An in-home session with Eloise! Eloise is friendly with dogs and new people outside of the home, but does not enjoy visitors inside her home - Eloise started the session growling and barking at me with very nervous body language, and ended the session climbing up my leg to say hello!
Patience & positive energy is key 🐾🩶

My favorite dog body language fact!

Many people think their dog is just stretching when they’re really saying “hello!!! I’m so happy to see you!”

Ofcourse, there are many different scenarios where a dog will bow in a similar position and it can mean they are signaling something entirely different. Here are some things to look for with the “greeting stretch”

- Lowered forequarters
- Raised hindquarters
- nose oriented up towards the person the dog is greeting
- elbows remain off the ground (in most cases)

Working on barking and energy control when visitors arrive with Maisy! ❄️🐾

Imagine a world where your guests can arrive, take their shoes and coat off, and your pup is waiting patiently to greet them? We can make that happen!

Maisy showed incredible improvements during her first in-home session with me and her mom yesterday. I was able to knock on the door, and enter the home and Maisy was sitting nicely next to her mom with calm energy! Good girl Maisy!

Brothers Tippet and Dutton had a joined training session today with their owners to work on their EXCITEMENT when spotting eachother on leash. They ended today’s session completely focused on their owners, walking nicely, and ignoring eachother and even my dog moose! Good Boys! 🐾

My private training sessions are tailored specifically to each dog and their personal behavior/triggers/stimulations/and reward systems.

There is no such thing as ONE training method working for every single dog when it comes to positive reinforcement training - something that motivates one dog may not motivate the other!

What does a leash walking session look like with ?

We start by chatting about your pups behaviors & your training goals (important!)

Next we work on some loose leash walking, energy control, and focus in a quiet but stimulating environment.

Once your pup has mastered this, I bring out one of my pups to increase distractions / stimulation while still in a controlled environment.

The better your pup behaves the more distractions we incorporate (over time!)

Simple, easy, fun, interactive. POSITIVE!

Working on fear & anxiety around new / bigger dogs with Leo today!

Working with our pups in a controlled environment is crucial when it comes to adjusting these kinds of emotions. Leo did amazing today learning to feel comfortable and safe around a new & overstimulating dog! Boosting his owners confidence played a huge part in boosting Leo’s confidence. Good boy Leo, and good job Leo’s owners! 🐾

Let’s talk Crate Training!

Crates are a very useful tool for young pups, anxious pups, high energy/destructive pups, potty training pups, for pups who like their own space… really for all pups in general!
Exposing your pup to a crate and taking these steps to teach them to love this space is helpful in the event they need to stay overnight in a kennel at the vet, if they needed to travel, for grooming, safety at home, and more. It’s very important, and these tips will point you in the right direction!
