Mabel's Orphaned Angels Rescue Founded in October 2016, Mabel's Orphaned Angels Rescue (MOAR) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization & no-kill rescue based in Southern Maryland.

While a large number of our rescues are of the feline variety, we are committed to helping animals of all kinds find their perfect forever home. By the end of 2022 we will have found forever homes for more than 400 orphaned angels.

A huge thank you to Horsmon Farm for allowing us to use the farm and helping us make it an amazing event.

It’s crazy how fast time flies and how quickly our babies grow up. Soon they’ll be in their furever home(s), making all of the memories with their families. 😻

THIS is why spay and neuter is so important. 💔 Tapioca and her babies deserved better.
When we picked up Tapioca and her babies she was on death’s door. We followed our vet’s guidance to a T. She fought a hard fight, but ultimately she couldn’t recover.
We pulled her babies from her immediately. She had complications during the birthing process. All of her babies came out, but she was so malnourished and had already given everything she had to her babies.
Over the weeks we lost two of her babies. They had giardia, coccidia, and roundworms as well as congenital issues.
Poor baby Mochi had pus in his lungs, discovered during his euthanasia appointment despite being on antibiotics and our critical care protocol. 💔
Not only is this heartbreaking for these babies, but it is so freaking hard on us as rescuers too.

This isn’t uncommon. Moms and babies are out there dying every single day from complications. They’re dying in shelters. They’re dying in homes. They’re dying outside. It’s not fair.
Spaying and neutering is the ONLY answer.
If you are feeding cats, please reach out for help. Reach out BEFORE they’re pregnant. BEFORE there are babies. BEFORE it becomes an emergency.
Kitten season is hectic. While “off season” might not even feel like a real thing, it is much easier to get appointments when rescues and clinics aren’t completely overwhelmed.
We are tired. We are sad. We are overwhelmed.
We don’t want to keep losing moms and babies who never should have been here to suffer in the first place.
Please spay and neuter. Please ask for help. And please don’t wait until it’s an emergency.

We wanted to share a little kitten cuteness to brighten your day. These tiny faces make every moment sweeter and we love them more than we can say. But as adorable as they are we would love it even more if there were no more homeless kitties.

This is your daily reminder that spaying and neutering literally saves lives. Every single surgery prevents suffering reduces overcrowding and keeps rescues from drowning in litters that never should have been born.

Cheesy Gordita Crunch

Cheesy Gordita Crunch, also known as Gordy, is still getting used to his foster home. He arrived at his foster home as a very nervous boy, but has really gained confidence and prefers to be wherever his people are. He still startles easily and will scramble for cover when startled, but pretty soon he’s back out in the opening g batting toys around, exploring, or looking for lap to cuddle on. Gordy is playful and energetic and loves wrestling with his brother Chalupa. Gordy has adjusted to the other animals in his foster home, including the dog and has befriended another young foster cat here. Although Gordy will need time to adjust to his new home, he has proven himself to be very adaptable. He would love to be adopted with his brother Chalupa, but would definitely need a young playful cat to be his partner in cat crime. He is neutered and ready for his forever home.

Chalupa Supreme
This little boy kitten absolutely loves to play with toys, or with his brother, or - even better - BOTH! He has lots of energy and lots of purrs. He needed a little time to get used to his Foster home and the other animals, but he is very motivated to be near people so he adjusted quickly to the other cats and even the large dog. This sweet fluffy creamsicle would adapt well to most households. Did I mention that he is adorable because he is ridiculously adorable. Chalupa plays hard, but is happy to curl up in a lap for cuddles and a nap once he wears himself out. He would love to be adopted with his littermate Cheesy Gordita Crunch, but definitely needs to be adopted with another kitten or young playful cat to help him work off some energy and nibbliness (in a playful way) Chalupa is already neutered and ready for his forever home.
