Today is National Purebred Dog day! A day to celebrate Purebred dogs! Maguire and Griffin would not exist if there were not Preservation Breeders who carefully planned for Glen of Imaal Terriers. In fact the Glen of Imaal Terrier is a vulnerable breed. Very few puppies are born each year in the US and we are in danger of losing this lovely, historic breed.

🎉Happy Birthday to the Finnabair Boys!! Newt and Maguire turned 3 today! They could not celebrate together so a FaceTime party it was! 🎈

AKC earthdog requires terriers and dachshunds to enter a 9" X 9" tunnel to reach the quarry where the dog has to stay with the rats and work by digging, scratching, barking,etc. Different levels have different lengths and challenges with the den designs. The basic novice tunnel is ~10 ft long with one turn. the events are timed.
Griffin earned a Junior Earthdog title in his younger years but at 12 years old the regulation tunnel is too much for him to navigate now so Mark made a special 11" practice tunnel for Griffin so he can be part of the fun when we have practice days! Today Griffin had a great time practicing! The hardest part is holding onto him before his turn--the leash was still on his back

🔥🔥Maguire completed all the requirements to earn his MASTER Versatility Award from the Glen of Imaal Terrier Club of America.🔥🔥
🏆Maguire earned all the titles for the highest GITCA versatility award before he turned TWO years old.🌟⭐️ The final title to qualify for Master Versatility was earned by Maguire in 2023 but we missed the cut off to send in the application to receive the award in 2023. 🏆
🥇🥇He also earned medallions for Farm Dog & VHMA and a plaque for #1 trick dog for 2024. 🥇🥇
