🎃 October Pet Safety Alert! 🐾

Fall is full of fun — pumpkin spice, cozy sweaters, and Halloween treats — but some things can be dangerous for your pets. Here are a few things your dog should avoid this month:

🚫 Chocolate & Candy – Especially Halloween candy containing xylitol or chocolate. Even small amounts can be toxic.
🚫 Seasonal Decorations & Plants – Pumpkins (the seeds/stems/outer layering), gourds, and decorative plants (like chrysanthemums and poinsettias) can upset tummies, cause intestinal blockages, or be poisonous if ingested.
🚫 Rodent & Insect Baits – These can be fatal if your pet gets into them.
🚫 Alcohol & Human Foods – Apple cider, wine, raisins, and some fall treats may be harmful.

Keep all toxic items out of reach and supervise your pets around seasonal decorations and trick-or-treaters! 😽

HELLO ALL 👋 I saw this post in a local group but wanted to share here for more attention!!
As we know Martin has a stray cat issue. Weakley County has only 1 animal shelter, Red Fern. While they are amazing, one shelter can only do so much. I believe Weakley County should look into opening a no-kill animal shelter.

As I’m only a college student, I don’t have the resources to jumpstart this. But I believe if we can show city officials that this matter is important through signatures, then we could work towards saving the lives of countless strays.

I have not seen a petition for this cause just yet, so I thought I would take some initiative and start one. If you’re tired of seeing deceased strays on the road, have a passion for animals, or just not a fan of the strays, then please consider signing this petition! Thank you!

Also any and all advice, ideas, or help is greatly appreciated!

⚠️ATTENTION: our volunteer who does the nail trims/grooming services will not be able to make it to this clinic, so we will unfortunately not have those services available this time. We've updated the pricing sheet to reflect these changes.

📣 Big news for HES! 📣
We will be starting a NEW monthly low-cost vaccine clinic to be held at HES on the 1st Wednesday of each moth! These new clinics will be IN ADDITION TO our community clinics held at different locations in Hamilton Co. on the 4th Saturday of the month!

Our first new clinic will be held JUNE 4TH from 9am-1pm at HES. We will be offering dog and cat vaccines, rabies shots, pet licenses, microchips, dewormer, and more!

First come, first served, and while supplies last. Please have all dogs on leashes and all cats in carriers. You DO NOT need to be a Hamilton County resident to participate!
