This weekend was our first show of the year for the Nail Hill gang.
What made this different was we were with our long term handler, everyone should take some time off, and it was just our current special Sisko and I pursuing his Bronze Grand Championship.
I can prepare the dogs get and keep the dogs in shape , train dogs but to show them has always been something i don’t enjoy but this weekend it was necessary and I didn’t want to handicap a really great dog.
Sisko really loves his dad as he and I have a very special bond so he was ready to go anywhere with me.
We practiced the weeks before our timing and the skill of Sisko NOT kissing his handler when I set his front legs!
We did great, going Best of Breed and better getting good comments from the judge about his substance and structure.
Having to put family before dog shows kept us from showing Sunday but just as well we accomplished what we set out to which was represent well and win if we could.
We are going for Bronze in just a few weeks and having Siskos handler back ensures he will be on top of his game.
Remember it’s only a ribbon and points to us but to your dog it’s hopefully time with someone they really like, have fun.
