From the tiny, rural Upper Michigan town of Chassell, Michigan, a dream is coming true for Rose Anderson, 71, her working Border Collie, Ryzup Hutch. After 50 years in the dog business and numerous top finishes at some of the most prestigious stock dog trials in the country, including USBCHA Stockdog Finals, The Bluegrass, The Meeker Classic, and Soldier Hollow, Rose has finally earned a spot to represent the USA at the ISDS Stock Dog World Trial in Scotland in 2026. This is a huge honor and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for her and her dog; however, the costs of travel, accommodation, and entry fees are significant, and we need your help to make this dream a reality. After AM feeding and turnout/play for all the kennel fur baby customers, I let my 4 sidekicks into the kennel (aka, Doggy Camp) play yard with their sacrificial screaming chicken.

Good afternoon everyone!!!
Just in case anyone has tried calling the kennel yesterday or today, our kennel phone has not been working properly and hasn’t been allowing any messages. I switched the calls back to the main house and you should be able to leave messages, now, and I will get those shortly! You can also call my cell directly and I can get you scheduled!!

When you tell your three pups that they get to go to “Doggy Camp”, aka Sturgeon River Kennels LLC, and they beat you to the the door and excited to go to their home-away-from-home!! 😍🥰😍

PSA!!!! The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department just left my place. They said someone saw three dogs running around the top of the kennel driveway. They were able to catch one of the dogs (yellow lab) and bring it to the animal shelter in Houghton. The LEO said another of the dogs was a poodle-type.
Please note …..ALL of the dogs that are boarded the kennel are accounted for and safe and happy in their own individual accommodations!!! NONE of those that are/were loose on US 41 Chassell are associated with me, the Sturgeon River Kennels LLC, or Rose M. Anderson!!
