A common question we get is “how do you keep a dog still for acupuncture?” It’s rarely a problem! Most of the time dogs get very relaxed and even go to sleep with the needles in as a result of the natural endorphin release. 😴

We treated sweat Millie with electroacupuncture and laser for severe neck pain that did not respond to pain medication. She had been unable to lie down and would back into my lap and fall asleep with her head supported while getting acupuncture. She is all better! We got her started on some herbs and supplements that will help prevent future neck pain which is common in beagles.

We treat cats too! We just attended continuing education on feline osteoarthritis. 60% of cats over 6 and 90% of cats over 12 have signs of arthritis. They are very good at hiding their pain, so it often goes unrecognized. Some subtle signs include sociability changes, litter box habit changes, hesitating before jumping, or walking down stairs slowly or at an angle.
