Your dog’s size and energy output determine how much you should feed them. A pup with normal activity levels should receive “maintenance energy” whereas a lap dog requires just about 10% of that. An active pupper who exercises outdoors regularly would likely need an additional 20-40% than your average dog. Adjusting portion sizes is normal as you learn your dog’s ideal maintenance amount. Keep in mind that the weather can play a role in how much your dog should eat. Be sure to consult with us to develop a feeding schedule that is best for your furry family members! We all want our homes to smell nice and clean; however, as pet owners, we have to be extra careful that whatever we are using isn’t harmful to our fur babies. Incense is dangerous to cats as their sense of smell is 14 times stronger than that of humans and the smell can be too intense for them to handle. It also produces smoke, which can be bad for their respiratory system and increase the risk of your cat developing asthma. Opt for cat-friendly methods of keeping your house smelling fresh and clean by dusting frequently, using baking soda to absorb odors, having fragrant plants such as rosemary or sage, or simmering a pot of water with cinnamon sticks, apples, or vanilla. Stay current with your cats' healthcare needs and schedule their appointment by calling (704) 523-2996.

Honestly… they might be onto something 😌 Whether it’s saying no to chaos, no to sharing boxes, or no to anything that doesn’t pass their vibe check, cats set boundaries and stick to them.

A dog’s reaction to guests can tell us a lot about their comfort level and behavior. Reactions like barking, hiding, or guarding can be linked to anxiety, lack of socialization, or protective instincts. Understanding those signals can help prevent stress and create safer interactions for everyone.

Polydactyl cats are born with extra toes, most often on their front paws. It’s a genetic trait and is usually completely harmless, just an extra dose of cute. That said, those extra toes can come with a few care considerations. More toes means more nails to trim, and sometimes they grow at different angles or are easier to snag if not maintained. Most polydactyl cats live totally normal, healthy lives, but regular paw checks and nail trims are important to keep them comfortable.
