Darby Acres Farm is a place that locals and visitors have the opportunity to pet and visit a wide variety of farm animals. Come on out and meet our alpacas, donkeys, cows, chickens, pigs, camel, bunnies, and horses! There

is something for all ages: animals, antiques, old tractors, and a playground. Host your event here and take advantage of our large indoor bar!

WHO IS READY FOR HALLOWEEN FAMILY DAY?!
Please join us October 18th for our Halloween family event!

$50 general admission includes one mini pumpkin per person (for decorating or capybara feeding), capybara encounters, kangaroos encounters, bunnies snuggles, armadillo encounters, fennec fox meet and greets, reptile encounters and so so much more!! You and your family will have two hours to free range the zoo at your own pace and be hands on with so many incredible species.

All food for the animals and all animal encounters (except otter) are included in general admission on family day. Otter encounters are only $10 on a first come, first serve basis.

Put on your best Halloween costume and join us for the most interactive and educational animal experience in Charlotte!

🌿✨ Free Range Mondays ✨🌿

Have you noticed we don’t have tours listed on Mondays? 👀 That’s because every Monday is our animals’ day off! 🐾

Kangaroos get to hop around the pasture, goats go exploring for snacks, and lemurs spend the morning sunbathing like little yoga masters 🧘‍♂️☀️. Mondays are their time to relax, recharge, and just be animals.

That way, when you visit Tuesday–Sunday, you’ll meet happy, well-rested friends who are excited to see you! 💛

🐨✨ Bonus: Fall and winter are our slower months with everyone being back to school — which means smaller crowds, more one-on-one time with the animals, and some of the best up-close encounters of the year. 🌍✨ Meet the African Genet – nature’s sleek little shadow!

Genets may look like wildcats, but they’re actually more closely related to civets and mongooses. These nocturnal hunters are masters of stealth, with their spotted coats and long banded tails helping them blend into the trees.

🐾 Fun Facts:
• They can leap up to 6 feet in a single bound – pretty impressive for such a small carnivore!
• Genets are omnivores, snacking on insects, fruit, birds, and small mammals.
• Each genet has a unique spot pattern, like a fingerprint.
• Despite their cat-like agility, they are not felines at all!

Ours at the zoo love to show off their climbing skills and curiosity. If you catch them prowling, you’ll see why these little predators are some of the coolest creatures of the African night. 🌙🐆

Book a Safari Friends Walking tour and come hang out with our two-legged princess, Peggy!!!

Peggy came to us about a year ago as a rescue, due to the fact that she was born without her two front feet and required some extra medical attention for a while to get her healthy and strong.

Peggy is resilient and loves nothing more than to meet new friends. She’s a big hugger and will use all her cuteness to convince you she needs all of your snacks!

She is a free range animal here at the safari, so no matter what tour you book, she will be there ready to greet you when you come in the gates!!

We are by appointment only and you must book your spot online, in advance, prior to coming to our facilities. Spots are limited and we do sell out, so book yours while you can!!
