We had a fantastic time at TNSHA. We had lots of amazing placings but this weekend was strictly about skill building for our whole crew! Our highlights focus solely on experiences and learning for both horses and riders!!
🦄Emma Parks and J Whitesocks had an amazing show. Emma had her personal best cow work in our opinion, and demonstrated an extremely high level on control of cow. Emma lost her cow and regained position and control within 5 seconds and finished strong with 16 seconds left on the clock. She never backed down or froze up when it didnt go as planned.
Emma and socks took on ranch pleasure, trail, and rail with little practice (bc they have been focused on showing nrcha) and not only did it with ease, they crushed!!
Emma has been working on her lead departures very diligently and never missed a lead the entire weekend!
This little cowgirl is not only tough but shes by far one of the most disciplined kids we have ever seen. She works hard and does not miss ride times and puts in the work that is pushing her and her horse towards excellence. We could not be more proud of her!
🦄 Katelynn Arnold and J Whitesocks took on her very first ever horse show in her life!! Katelynn has been putting in at least 3 rides per week with us for around 8 months and we can see all the work coming together! Katelynn has been focused on improving her seat and learning feel and timing of the horse very very diligently. By the time we looked up from working the show had crept up on us leaving about a week to cram in learning trail, ranch riding, and how to work a flag into a very hot and strenuous schedule. Katelynn dug in and lerned all the following skills in a week.....sidepass, trot overs, back through, how to work a gate, backwards turns, and pattern placement. Shes a beast!
She not only took on all these tasks but she preformed them at the top of her classes winning 5th overall in the Walk Trot. It will be the only time you see Kate in the walk trot again bc this cowgirl is going places!! Shes an unstoppable rider bc she is so disciplined and hungry to learn! We are so proud for her to be part of our barn family 🥰
🦄 Isaac Nulton and Whiskey Double Shot took on herd, rein and cow this weekend as practice for a bigger NRCHA pre futurity we have on the books in September. Isaac and Rudie not only showed up skilled and ready to work, they placed super well among open riders and placed in the top half of the class in reining and cow work!
Isaac never quits. He puts in hard work with his horse, he is disciplined and diligent with his training. It is paying off in a big way seeing all that hard work shine through Rudie in the show pen!! We absolutely love watching this team go learn and grow each time they enter the pen!
🦄DC Dual Fever and Josh brought home and open Reserve all around championship for owner Sara Morse!!
This gelding does it all! Whatever hes called upon for!! He tries his heart out! Hes smart on a cow, athletic and gentle! We all love the "Golden Boy" of the Morse family!!
🦄 JT Tuff Black Cat and Josh Hasty blew it out of the water this weekend marking a 73 fence score!! Affectionately known as "Duke" this sweet young stallion has the eye appeal only dreams are made of!! He was raised by Tanya Mann Hollingsworth and Jerry Hollingsworth at Hollingsworth farm!
🦄 Metallic Max Link and Josh got in some good practice for upcoming Texas pre-futurity. Max speaks for himself through raw talent and sheer athletic abilities. Hes all business and no fluff but he takes care of his jobs not only effortlessly but with a confidence you would have to see in person! Max is co-owned by Sara Morse and Emily and Josh Hasty.
🦄Dirty Minded took on her practices with grace and came away winning a check in the herd. Kitty is fast, beautiful and gritty! Shes definitely one to watch in coming months. Kitty is a natural at her jobs and can read a cow like no other!! Not only is she fast but shes sporty doing it all! She was raised by Craig Sewell and Sewell's Painted Ranch!
🦄 Badgers Gin Bar took on his very first trip to town! This 3 yo joined his class a little late but his natural ability and strength caught him right up to the rest. Badger is not only athletic but hes big and strong and balanced! Badger can gather a cow with the best of him. He reads a cow naturally and is a huge stopper! We are so proud of him and his first show! Badger was raised by Blaine L. Williams at Bar W Ranch!!
🦄Playing Like a Boon was Piloted by Emily Walker Hasty for his very first show! Woody was started early fall last year and is very green but willing to try the hard stuff! He never seen a ground pole before last Wednesday and he went in and crushed trail marking several plus half manuvers! He reined and understood the assignment although having some bobbles along the way he finished strong and confidently! Woody gave the whole weekend his best and had the best attitude and demeanor the entire time. Woody is big, athletic, and balanced! Hes going places so keep an eye out for him this fall! Woody is owned by Danielle Joiner and her family!
🦄SJR Coco Mist and Emily took on herd, rein and cow after only a few weeks of practice as a team. This little mare has the grit and athletic abilities it takes to be a successful cowhorse! She is balanced, cowy and fast all rolled together! She tries hard and is an absolute sweet heart and barn favorite on the ground! We see this little mare having an amazing career ahead of her!
