TAILS OF THE INSANE ASYLUM: LILO EDITION
Meet Lilo. Lilo is 7 years old and has spent ¾ of that in a shelter. Is Lilo a dog you can take home and immediately be best friends with? Probably not. When he came to us we were told he had severe stranger danger, did not like to be told what to do and acts a mess when he doesn’t feel good. So what did we do? We observed. We watched Lilo and we worked with him to find what he listened to best. Now? Lilo just wants a couch to lay on with his trusted human. He still has some stranger danger, but give him some time and grace he did spend almost all of his life behind bars. He will listen to his person, but his person needs to also listen to him. He is a very smart boy with great basic obedience and dog manners. Does that mean he can go to a dog bar or a brewery? No. Like we said before, listen to his needs and you will have a great boy, but still not a boy to take out and show off. If he ever shows signs of regression, TAKE HIM TO THE VET. Lilo gets an attitude when he doesn’t feel good, but so do we. He is overall a neutral chill lazy boy just looking for a couch and a person to call his own. He wants to please, he is so receptive to his person. The Humane society of Catawba is the only place to give him even the smallest of chances by trusting him with us. Now, let him show you the side of him he learned here and give him the chance he deserves. The HOME he deserves.
