Gilmore Dog Rescue Our mission is to rescue from CMPD provide care & rehabilitation they need while awaiting their forever homes. In 2024 we rehomed 27 dogs!

Welcome Gilmore Guest #74 – Theodore “Teddy”! 🐾💙

Today was almost the end of the road for Teddy. His previous owner requested euthanasia, claiming he was “a lot” and even calling him aggressive… then threw a pillow at him. 💔 The second Teddy was away from that environment, he showed his true colors – sweet and gentle with staff, and even did great for his vet check!

Thanks to our amazing friend Cat, Teddy is now safe in foster care! ✨

Here’s what we know so far:

7 years young - neutered male - handsome

Teddy doesn’t pay any attention to cats 🐱

He did great tonight out at a brewery 🍻

He seems to be potty trained 🙌

We are beyond grateful for animal control here in Charlotte, giving people a safe place to surrender their dogs instead of abandoning them. And even more grateful that Teddy gets a real chance at the happy life he deserves. 💛

✨ Welcome Gilmore Guest #73 – Dorothea! ✨

Meet Sweet Thea 💕 a gentle, loving, and friendly Yorkie who’s searching for her forever home! 🏡

She still needs to be spayed, but she’ll be ready to head into foster care this weekend. Here’s what we know about her so far:

🐑 She loved meeting the sheep!
🐶 Gets along well with Macy, our female lab mix
🚽 Appears to be house trained
👩‍🦰 Adored all the humans she met today

She hasn’t been tested with children or cats yet, but based on her personality, we think she’ll love everyone she meets. At under 2 years old, she’s the perfect mix of playful and sweet.

If you’re looking for a tiny companion with a big heart, Thea might just be your girl! 💛

Huge shout out to for transporting this sweet angel today! You are a rockstar!!!
