Dog Walking & Grooming Services We have an exciting announcement about the PAWsome happenings in Charlestown.

As of January 1, 2016, Britt Turgeon and Lindsay LaRocca will be taking over the Durty Harry’s 287 Main Street, Charlestown location and will be transitioning under a new name “WAGS Charlestown, Walking & Grooming Services”. Brittany is running the grooming show and Lindsay is running the walking club. Please know that we will be business as usual, providing the personalized attention to each of y

our pups that you have grown to love and depend on over the last five years. Going forward we are 100% committed to delivering the same exceptional service in addition to some new features and we’re so very excited for what is in store for 2016! This will be our new Facebok Page- WAGS Charlestown. All other social media has also been transitioned over and is live now including: Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat! 🚨 Important: Monday 8/11–Wednesday 8/13 Walks 🚨
Real feel temps: 99°–101° | No swimming offered

We’ve got a double whammy this week—extreme heat and blue-green algae blooms—so here’s the game plan to keep every pup safe.

🌊 No Swimming This Week
Blue-green algae has been detected in Cambridge and the Charles River. This algae can produce toxins that make people and pets seriously ill—and can even be fatal to animals. Until it’s safe, we’ll be pressing pause on all swimming.

☀️ Heat Advisory: Potty Breaks Only
Monday & Tuesday will be the worst (real feel 101°). To protect pups and walkers:
• If you’re NOT working from home: We’ll provide quick potty breaks only.
• If you ARE working from home: Please cancel your Monday & Tuesday walks in Pet Pocketbook.

✂️ Groom Appointments: If your dog has a groom scheduled during their walk on these days, I can still handle pickup & drop-off.

Wednesday: We’ll play it by ear—if temps drop, we’ll resume normal walks! 🤞🏼

CPR Tip of the Day 🐾
Something we learned in yesterday’s CPR training that could save a life:
If you suspect your dog is experiencing heat stroke, soak a paper towel with rubbing alcohol and gently press it to each paw pad. This can help draw out heat while you get your pup to the ER. 🏥💨

WAGS fam — meet Ziggy! 🐾
The most adorable Sweet Paws rescue just joined the pack!

This 7/8-month-old Golden Borzoi mix landed his FURever home in Charlestown at the end of July and had his official FURst WAGS Walking Club day yesterday! 🎉

Ziggy was born with scoliosis, which gives his spine a sweet little S-curve and a compact build—but don’t let that fool you! He’s been fully cleared by BVC with zero exercise restrictions, and he’s already keeping up with the crew like a champ 🙌🏼

We’re so excited to watch this handsome guy grow, thrive, and soak up all the love 💛

📍 Fun fact: Ziggy’s sister June is still available for adoption through Sweet Paws Rescue. Imagine a sibling duo in the Walking Club?!

I never imagined I’d be making this announcement before my oldest hit kindergarten, but sometimes life takes you down the most unexpected paths. The amount of gratitude I have for each and every one of you that I’ve come across on my journey here is endless. Charlestown and the Charlestown dog community will always have the biggest piece of my heart. I’m eternally grateful for the WAGS community❤️🐾

WAGS Walking Club! ☀️🐾

We’re keeping a close eye on the temps this week—it’s shaping up to be a scorcher! For the safety of your pups (and our walkers), we’ll be offering potty breaks or one-hour swim sessions with pickup and drop-off for the rest of the week. Please let me know what you prefer!

Forecasted “real feel” temps are sitting around 99° Tuesday through Thursday, and climbing to 100° on Friday. If the weather shifts and things cool down, we’ll gladly resume regular walks 🤗🤗🤗

WAGS fam — meet Rusty, the cutest little Duck Tolling Retriever pup! 🐶✨

This 4-month-old squish just moved into his Charlestown home last week and had his FURst official WAGS Walking Club day yesterday! 🎉

Rusty’s already been working with prior to the move and is focusing on staying calm around other dogs—a skill he showed off like a champ when we bumped into Auntie and her pack, and again during a stroll with the ’s crew. We can’t wait to watch this cutie grow and thrive! 🐾

📍 Fun fact: Rusty is only our second purebred Duck Tolling Retriever in WAGS history—the first was Ginger back in 2014! We’re also pretty sure Dixie has some DTR in her DNA, so if Rusty is anything like those two, we’re in for something very special 💛

WAGS fam — we’re so excited to welcome a brand new Golden nugget to the Walking Club… everyone, meet Montego! 🐶✨

This 8-week-old potato just arrived home on Father’s Day and is already gearing up to take Charlestown by storm. He had his FURst WAGS Walking Club day yesterday and will kick off training with this Friday! 🎉

We can’t wait to watch this little guy grow up surrounded by the best community ever 🐾

Let’s give a tail-waggin’ welcome to our newest Walking Club pup—Maple! 🐾

This sweet 7-month-old Lab is already a star student after graduating from ’s puppy camp and continuing her training journey with group classes and one-on-one sessions! 🎓💪

Maple had her FURst walk with the WAGS Walking Club yesterday and totally crushed it on loop—walking like she’s been part of the crew forever! She’s officially ready to join Wednesday/Friday pack like the pro she is. 🙌

📍 Fun fact: Maple and .days became instant besties—bonding over all things Lab life… especially being highly food motivated 😋

Turn-Up Tuesday means it’s time to welcome our sassy and sweet new Dachshund—meet Lucy! 🎉

This itty bitty floof has been working one-on-one with , and we love how committed Lucy’s mom and dad are to her training!

Lucy had her FURst walk with us this past Friday, and let’s just say—this little lady is full of curiosity. The world (and all the other dogs in it) is very exciting, so the next few weeks will be all about helping her stay calm and confident before she officially joins the full pack.

Starting off this sunny Monday by introducing our newest pup, Howie! ☀️🐶🐾

This sweet and snuggly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has been hard at work with and his mom, learning the ropes and charming everyone he meets 🎉💛🐾

Howie had his FURst walk with us this past Friday, and true to his Spaniel roots, his nose is to the ground and his tail never stops wagging—especially when he spots other pups around town! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be focusing on helping Howie stay calm and confident around other dogs before he officially joins the full WAGS pack 🙌🏼

📍 Fun fact: Howie’s already a pro at flying—he regularly jets off to visit family in other states like a seasoned traveler!

Our Story

WAGS Charlestown, Walking & Grooming Services opened it’s doors on January 1, 2016. Owners, Britt Turgeon and Lindsay LaRocca are long time friends who met through their love of rescue, volunteering for Last Hope K9 Rescue. They are truly “crazy dog ladies,” who love nothing more than keeping pups and their families happy and healthy. Britt runs the grooming show and Lindsay runs the walking club. Together, they hope to support the Charlestown dog community in every way possible through education, community service and fundraising!
