We started with my cousin’s dog Cody and the last pick up were my niece’s dogs Kairo & Buster. I’ve struggled to write and share this post. I tried to make a video, but ended up with over 400 photos of our beloved guests. After more than 8 wonderful years of loving and caring for hundreds of your fur babies in between, the time has come for us to turn the page. This decision comes with mixed emotions, but also with deep gratitude.
As many of you know, I have walked through a breast cancer journey, endured a torn meniscus, and am now preparing for 10 hours a week of hyperbaric oxygen therapy due to an open wound from a failed implant. At the same time, Mark is recovering from a hip replacement and facing knee replacements. With yesterday marking 3 years since my double mastectomy, these chapters have reminded us of the importance of self-care, healing, and cherishing the time we have with loved ones.
So, with full hearts, we are hanging up our leashes, folding up our crates, and choosing to focus on health, family, and life’s quieter joys. While we welcome the chance to not miss family moments and to simply take care of ourselves, it is not without sadness that we say goodbye to a community and calling that has brought us so much joy.
It has been one of my greatest pleasures and honors to serve you and your fur babies over the years. Your trust in me to love and care for them has been the heartbeat of Totally Pawsome Getaways, and for that I am forever grateful.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you, a trillion times, for being part of the Totally Pawsome Getaways family.
With love and gratitude,
Tammy & Mark
