Ok folks, 2025 lambs have been coming fast and furious, most strong and healthy. There was a weak pair of twins I've been spending a lot of time on, and sadly we did lose one of them. The other is not out of the woods but he is stronger today than he was yesterday. And we still have 2 ewes holding lambs hostage. Nutmeg is a St. Croix and was due 4/17. Alyssa is a Cotswold and was due 4/13. Anybody want to guess who will lamb first? (Weird picture because it's a screenshot from my barn camera; I'm trying not to disturb them too much. Alyssa is in front of Nutmeg in this picture.

Ok, the intended subjects of my puppy posts are running me ragged! We're having fun but haven't managed to post as I hoped to. Here's a picture of the hooligans looking innocent. Don't be fooled; they are very much adolescent boys!

Getting the farm prepped for the cold snap that's moving in. Remember to keep an eye on your dogs this week when outside - their paws can get very cold very quickly. Most dogs should probably just do quick trips outside to relieve themselves for the next few days. As the owner of high energy, intelligent dogs, I am looking up enrichment activities! (I'm laughing in the picture because I didn't realize that my stalker was there until I raised the phone up. I should know he's always lurking.)

Posting because some of you have met him, and you won't be seeing him anymore. I don't want to talk about it, but last night, less than a week after his 11th birthday, Hawkeye left us. On Christmas Eve he was diagnosed with late stage cancer, probably hemangiosarcoma, and it progressed quickly. I took this picture 12/27/24.

Many thanks to the Animal Clinic of Chardon for customizing his care to work with his quirks.

Hey, I've been neglecting this page but I have some ideas for what I hope will be informative posts and cute pictures. If there's anything in particular you'd like more information on, let me know! Currently I'm working on puppy training for grooming and things you can do to help your dog be comfortable with grooming.

I did also just learn from a post by Akita My Heart, LLC that there is apparently a scam going around claiming to be grooming businesses and demanding prepayment via Venmo. While I do accept Venmo, you will not get a surprise request for money from me. Be careful out there!

And watch out for gators in your living rooms (or wild puppies who will be demo dogs for future posts)!
