Yesterday was a scary day. I woke up around 3:30 a.m. to check on Cabela and she was deathly sick. I called the ER vet and submitted our information however, at that point they didn’t call me back until it was almost time for our regular vet to open so I opted to take Cabela there first. We found out that her blood sugar was extremely low (it was 20 and the low end of normal is 74). After getting her stable, they transferred us to the ER vet. Cabela had an emergency csection and they found out she had a uterine torsion. The combination of that and a large litter is what caused her blood sugar and calcium levels to drop. With the excellent care of nashvillevetspecialists Cabela and all TEN of her puppies are doing well. We will be keeping a close eye on them over the next few days, but mama and babies were able to come home last night. ❤️❤️❤️
