Earth-Friendly Agriculture PlowGirl Farm practices earth-friendly, sustainable agriculture on a simple eight-acre plot just west of Chapel Hill.

We grow a wide range of vegetables and specialize in heirloom tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms and culinary ginger. Dingo Dog Brewing Company, a non-profit whose proceeds benefit companion animal rescue, is located in our barn. Together we've created a zero-waste facility utilizing "ugly" produce for brewing and composted spent grain and gray water for fertilizer. We also maintain bee hives and share

the land with rescued animals including three goats. We work with nature, not against it, and tend the crops with a “less is more” philosophy.

An urgent message from Carolina Farm Stewardship:

In the next 24 hours, the House of Representatives is preparing to vote on a farm bill that simply isn’t strong enough to meet the needs of farmers right now.

This farm bill as currently written:
- Makes unnecessary changes to proven, popular, and crucial conservation programs that would further limit how many farmers are able to take advantage of these resources,
- Fails to provide funding for local food programs that would build stable domestic markets for farmers, foster local supply chain resiliency, and revitalize both urban and rural communities, and
- Fails to make common sense improvements that small, beginning, and diversified farmers need to access the farm safety net.

Farmers deserve more than what this farm bill offers. We must take action to tell our representatives to vote against its passage. Can you take 60 seconds to call and email your Representative today, urging them to vote NO on the House’s farm bill draft?
