I saw this post and had to share it...this says it all...
THE TEARS BEHIND EVERY DOG BREEDER’S JOURNEY.

People see the strong dogs... the perfect litters… the big kennel names.
But they never see the tears behind it all.

They don’t see the sleepless nights beside a fading puppy…
The heartbreak when a breeding fails after months of planning…
The pain of losing a dog that carried your dream in its bloodline.

Breeding isn’t fame. It’s faith, sacrifice, and scars.
It’s giving your heart to lives that can’t speak but understand you deeper than words.

Every true breeder knows that pain, the one you hide behind a proud smile.
Because only breeders know what it means to cry over a whelping box and still rise again.

So when you see a strong kennel…
Remember, it was built with love, loss, discipline, and tears.

Behind every great dog…

Yesterday Jeff and all of the Blackjack dogs left for South Dakota for pheasant opener!! They had a safe trip, had an early dinner, did their grocery shopping and anxiously awaited the first hunt of the season...

Thank you to everyone for all of your kind words and love for our Lacey girl...I will admit it is going to be hard for awhile...not having her in the physical world...but I had the reassurance when going to the kennel this morning knowing that she is all right and running free... hopefully with some of the other Blackjack dogs that have passed on before her...❤️🐾

I'm not sure where to start with this post. One of the hardest parts...
This morning our Lacey let us know her time here on earth was over. Although we weren't ready...we followed her lead! She is at rest now. Thank you... to my dear friend and also our veterinarian... Momma Chops crossed over very peacefully.
When we retire our females from breeding most go to retirement homes...when Lacey retired, I told Jeff, I needed to see this girl through to the end...I was with her the day she was born and held her until the very end...
Oh the adventures we had...I could go on and on and on...
I will just share a few pictures from our years with Lacey...the cutest Labrador ever!!
Rest easy my sweet girl...

We are very proud of our girl Penny Joy...we are looking forward to having her home for hunting season...this is a pretty big accomplishment for such a young dog. We were hopeful for a third pass on Sunday...but that didn't happen...this was her 1st time in a test situation which can be pretty intense for a young dog...

The Triple 8's have all left for their forever homes...it is kind of quiet at Blackjack Kennels...the puppies are off on their best adventure!! They all have gone to amazing homes...what great life's they will have...
I want to take this opportunity to thank ALL of our families...and welcome our new families to the Blackjack family.
Also thank you to you all who followed the journey of The Triple 8's...what a journey we had!!

The Triple 8's....and now there is one...the other 7 left yesterday for their forever homes...We get to spend a little extra time with this little lady!! Her family is so excited to take her home...they will be here on Sunday...
It is amazing to me how she doesn't seem to mind not having her siblings here...I think I miss them more than she does...😜...
Maybe it is because she is getting ALL the attention...
I will do my going home post on Sunday after all of the pups have left!!
