Sharing a sad update on Miss Noodles
Yesterday evening, we said goodbye to our most precious foster kitty, Miss Noodles. 🧡💔🌈
Almost exactly one year ago, this sweet orange senior came to us from a rural shelter. She was nothing but bones, weighing only 3 pounds. She was deaf and didn’t have a single toof. For over six months, we worked with veterinarians and specialists searching for answers.
Then Noodles met her fairy godfather, Dr. AJ Ashkan, who diagnosed her with FIP. With treatment and medication, Miss Noodles began to thrive. She gained weight, ate like a champ, and finally started feeling better. We were so hopeful.
But rescue doesn’t always get a happy ending. Neurological FIP took a devastating toll on her little body. Despite anti-seizure medications and every effort to help her, the seizures couldn’t be controlled, and they became too much for her frail old body to endure.
So we did the kindest thing we could—we let her go.
During her final year, Noodles lived in two loving foster homes where she was spoiled with snuggles, endless love, and her favorite treat, Churus. She slept in bed with the people she loved and was often caught snuggling with the dogs.
FIP was once considered a death sentence for cats, but today, thanks to research and treatment, 85% of cats can achieve remission and go on to live wonderful lives.
In Noodles’ honor, please consider fostering or adopting an FIP kitty who may be overlooked in an overcrowded shelter. FIP is not contagious, and education gives these cats a chance.
We love you, Noodles. You were so special, with the sweetest soul and the most purfect personality. We wish we had so much more time with you. Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈🐾
