Thanks to all of our loyal customers who sent us congratulations via Facebook and our email lists. This video was done with the help of past interviews, back when we were still growing corn. It's been humbling and we are deeply touched.

A letter to all our valued customers:
It is with thoughtful regrets that we are sending this message to you. Way back in 1977 when we established our farming operation, we never dreamed that we would have lasted this long. We began our farm with the help of Nancy's parents and our two sons. But now, it's only the two of us and the time has come that we must step down from our arduous and stressful lifestyle and retire from operating our pick your own berry farm.

Over the years we have been blessed with lasting relationships with many repeat customers. In the end, we may have even been growing berries for the grandchildren of our first pickers. This is the part of our farm operation that we will miss. All of your eager faces as you drove up to our gate were what kept us going for so many years. But now, the long days and nights of growing fruits and vegetables are behind us. Our bodies are worn out and it is time to move on to the next chapter.

Next May or June, we encourage you to search online for other growers via this website:
www.minnesotagrown.com. You can search by location and by crop. You could also consider scheduling a mini vacation around pick your own farms located in more distant places.

Again, thank you for all your years of doing business with us.
Sincerely,

Bill and Nancy Bauer

Blueberry picking time is just days away. We plan to begin our season on Friday, July 12. Hours will be from 8:00 AM until picked out, or 11:00 AM. The price is $4.15 per pound, with payment by cash or check. (No credit/debit cards). We do have an age restriction in the blueberries and ask you to bring children 6 years or older.
We will likely have picking on Saturday, depending on how much of the patch remains after Friday morning's picking. Always call before driving to the farm to verify hours especially later in the morning or if the weather is in question.

When the season is underway, we do not have time to answer individual questions on Facebook. You may find answers at our website: www.bauerberry.com

Last chance to pick on a Sunday morning. We will be open from 8:00 to 11:00 AM. The berry supply is rather inconsistent in the fields so pickers will be allowed to wander and find the good patches. The berries are smaller, but the flavor is much more intense with these later strawberries.

We are down to our last few days for strawberry picking. You don't want to miss it. The berries are smaller, but still plentiful. Call for the latest updates: 763-421-4384
Blueberries are delayed like the strawberry crop was. Maybe ripe around July 10??

Heat alert!
Because of the prediction of heat extreme temperatures, our picking hours will be limited for this coming weekend. We picked all the fields on Friday, so for Saturday we will be sending pickers back in those fields after only one day of ripening. That means the supply will not be as abundant as everyone would like, but that is farming in a nutshell. The berries are in high demand, so it will be very busy on Saturday. You can expect some waiting in lines, but rest assured, we are doing all we can to get you started picking.
As it looks now, the chances for picking on Sunday are not so good. It all depends on how the picking goes on Saturday and of course, the weather forecast.
We are out in the fields all day, and will not have time to personally answer your questions on Facebook. Please call our hotline for the latest updates: 763-421-4384
