About nine years ago, my boss was disinterested in looking at a resume and handed it to me. I read it and thought, “this kid’s resume looks a lot like mine did at his age.”
Except it was, ya know, better.
Then five years ago, I was in the throes of a mad plan to open a veterinary hospital. I thought the world of that young man, so I asked if he would come work for me.
Since then, the hospital opened, and he and some of the other young people who’ve worked for me have moved on.
I couldn’t be prouder of them.
Tyler graduates from today. Sam (happy birthday!) begins his clinical rotations there this month. Shahzad just completed his freshman year.
Ashley successfully passed her insurance licensing examination.
Claire graduated college and took a position as a pediatric nurse.
Michaela graduated college and hasn’t made up her mind yet.
Collin graduated high school early and is headed to St. Joe’s.
I knew them when their parents had to drive them to work. I knew them when they got accepted to college. I knew them when they achieved their goals and saw them make their dreams come true, while they helped me do the same for mine.
I count myself as incredibly fortunate to have been a part of their path. Old Ridge was so lucky to have them.
A special congratulations to Dr. Tyler Wyatt. You deserve every bit of your success. You have earned it many times over.
