We have season tickets to the , and Will couldn’t wait for the home opener tomorrow to wear his jersey.

Will selflessly came in on his day off to help mommy and daddy with a foreign body surgery today!

It was also nice of our patient to make sure the emergency didn’t conflict with game time!

Last week, we said goodbye to our dog Nittany.

Nittany was almost 16. I adopted her when still a veterinary student, she’s been with me through every adventure since.

The pointy-eared little black dog was my first, and though she didn’t come to work with me very often in her later years, you might recognize her anyway: it’s her silhouette on the Old Ridge logo.

I have helped a lot of my patients say goodbye over the years, but I admit that this one hurts even more deeply. She was more than just a great dog, because I know that I am a better doctor because of her. And a better dad too.

Hug yours a little tighter for me, and I hope you delight in the time we have with them.

Grief, I’ve heard, is the price of love. And even now, with tears in my eyes, it has been and will be much more often that she brought joy to my heart and a smile to my face.
