Update: Adopted
Thank you, Paw Pals Pet Sitting, for shining a light on Goose. Goose is located at the Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) of the Fairfax County Animal Services.

Meet Goose!

Honk — well, more like woof! Meet Goose, a 52-pound sweetheart who came to us through one of our rescue partners. He’s been through many recent changes and may need time to adjust to a new home and feel more at ease. Goose loves playing with balls and spending time with people — he’ll happily soak up pets and show his appreciation with plenty of hand licks. He would also benefit from training to build on basic obedience and boost his confidence. If you already have a dog, please bring them along to meet Goose to help make sure they’re a good match. Think Goose could be right for you? Come meet him!

Both locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, visit https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt

Duke Presley: The Handsome Softie With a Big Heart

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to for spotlighting Duke Presley, A-60218581, and for supporting our mission!

A Gentle Spirit Ready to Shine -Duke is a striking pup whose soulful eyes and gentle spirit are just waiting to be discovered. When he first arrived, Duke was a bit shy, but thanks to patience and kindness, he has started to open up. Now, he confidently comes to the front of his kennel to greet visitors and accepts treats with enthusiasm.

Personality and Playfulness- As Duke becomes more comfortable, his personality truly begins to sparkle. He absolutely loves a good hind-end scratch, which is his unique way of showing affection. Duke will happily lean in for more attention. When it’s time to play, he goes wild for squeaky toys and engages with joy and excitement. Trading toys for treats is one of his favorite games, making playtime extra fun.

Social Skills and Ideal Home- Duke displays good doggie manners and was polite when meeting another dog, though he prefers to keep interactions calm and low-key. He enjoys doing his own thing or having slow, thoughtful introductions to others. Duke is searching for a quieter home, ideally with older kids or adults, where he can have the space, structure, and confidence he needs to flourish.

A Loyal Companion Awaits-With the right person, Duke will become an incredibly loyal and loving companion. If you are looking for a sweet, sensitive friend who just needs a bit of patience to reveal his big, beautiful heart, Duke is the perfect match. Come meet him and let him win you over.

Duke Presley is eligible for an Adoption Audition and is located at the Michael R. Frey campus of the Department of Animal Services. For additional information about Ricky, please visit https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt.
