First Photo is of "Ironweed EZ Money of Grace Farms MH" (Call name "Red"). He was bred by Nancy Eisaman of Ironweed Kennels. He is the son of FC AFC Money Talks II (call name Copper) X Ironweed Boom Boom Butterfly MH (Call name Fly). " Copper" and his son "Red" are known for their pin point long distance marking (eyesight for field trial length falling birds). stylish retrieving, and trainability. Red's dam "Fly" is on record as the greatest single producer of AKC Master Hunters and UKC HRC FINISHED Retrievers (in just 3 litters).
"Red" was initially trained from 8 weeks up by hunting retriever trainer, (and his owner) Mary Fowler until he was 17 months old. At that time, Hastings, NY was hit with extremely cold temperatures, and Lake Effect bands of snow that drifted up to 12 feet high. At that point, to keep everyone sane, he was shipped to SC for 5 months of rigorous training. At 22 months old he passed his first AKC Master Hunter handled by professional trainer Terry Price.
Mary finished his Master Hunter title with limited local AKC Master testing, along with his first Rally Obedience title. When having Red's OFA yearly eye exam, done, Dr Ron Riis (Canine Opthamologist) at Cornell University announced he had just lost his beloved Labrador Retriever the day before, and didn't know how he and his brothers would hunt that year (waterfowl in New York State and pheasant at their farm in the Dakotas).
Since Red loved Dr Riis instantly, and Ron and Della loved HIM at first sight, an arrangement was made for Mary to maintain full ownership and allow Red to retire from competition, spending the rest of his (long) healthy life merrily retrieving every bird the Ron and his brothers shot, marked, or retrieved blindly using his tremendous nose, or by Ron's direction.
Limited straws at Zoetis Cryobank are available to bit*hes that conform to the AKC Standard as written, are not affected with genetic disease, have OFA rated good to excellent hips, OFA normal elbows and OFA clear eye exams within the last 2 years.
Please message Mary Fowler at "Labrador Retrievers of Central New York" for more information.
