Today I’m celebrating not only the amazing women in our community, but also the journey of being a woman-owned small business. Kota’s Kamp was built from passion, hard work, and a deep love for animals, and I’m so proud to be a woman entrepreneur doing what I love every single day.

Running Kota’s Kamp means putting my heart into caring for every pup, building relationships with wonderful clients, and creating a safe, fun environment for all of our Kampers. Being a woman business owner isn’t always easy, but it is incredibly rewarding.

🐾 Welcome, Nova! 🐾

We’re so excited to introduce Nova, a very sweet 9-month-old German Shepherd who’s officially part of the Kota’s Kamp pack! 💛 Nova is currently going through puppy training and doing a great job learning all the ropes. She’s a smart girl and is already showing what a wonderful pup she is.

Nova loves spending time playing with Dakota, and the two have so much fun together! 🐕🐾 If Nova had to choose between treats or toys… treats would win every single time. 🍖😋

I hope you and your fur babies are doing well! 🐾
I wanted to let you know that I have set up a new booking system for Kota’s Kamp and kindly ask that all appointments be scheduled through this system going forward.
You can access booking in any of the following ways:

• Through the Booksy app or website
• Through the Kota’s Kamp website
Appointments will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. After you submit a booking request, I will contact you to confirm your appointment and to let you know that I have received it.

Hi everyone 💛

As my pet care business continues to grow (which I am incredibly grateful for!), I just wanted to share a quick note for anyone new here. Kota’s Kamp is a small startup — and it’s run entirely by just me. 🐾

Because of this, I carefully schedule services to ensure every pet receives the time, attention, and quality care they deserve — while also keeping things sustainable so I can continue doing this long-term. I may not always be available for last-minute or highly specific time requests, but I will always do my best to accommodate when I can.

Training your dog doesn’t have to be hard.
You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars or use cruel tools like shock collars.

Training just needs to be effective, consistent, and positive.

The key? 👉 Use what motivates your dog most and turn it into positive reinforcement. Most of the time that’s treats—but not always.

In this video, Ace LOVES the ball 🎾
I want him to learn that when he drops the ball, the fun doesn’t stop—it actually gets better because I can throw it again.

So I paired the command with something I knew he’d love.
I asked him to “drop it.”
He did.
Immediately: “Yes!” + reward 🍖

Dogs are incredibly smart. When you’re clear, consistent, and fair, they catch on fast—and they actually enjoy learning.

Training should build trust, not fear 💛
