Today was a special day- 2 years since we lost our sweet springer loving 26yo daughter. She had adopted a puppy from one of our litters and we now get the joy of loving Bandit for her. Today we took the day to remember her by going to one of her favorite places, Sunken Gardens in San Antonio. And the first thing we met was this lovely ESS! It was divine! Truly these little things amaze us, and we know the greatest joy is reflected in their brown eyes.

Flood + 2 weeks…. Big difference from when the steps were submerged in the waters, then water receded to field of mud, which is now cracking and some grass is starting to grow through… in just 2 weeks… an eternity and a blink.

We’ve had less than 2” of a nice steady rain today. Remember how watersheds work? The Guadalupe River is flooded and has backed water up about 1500’ to the Verde Creek which enters it just across this flooded meadow. This picture is the Elm Creek about 400’ before it feeds into the Verde Creek. Yesterday this creek was dry. Today it’s up about 30’, for those of you who’ve been here this is taken from the top of the steps going down to the lower meadow above the creek.
