Just an FYI ……
If you have horses, you live with flies‼️
I was scrolling the other day and came across another DIY fly spray/repellent - PEPPERMINT AND WATER. I have tried so many DIY fly sprays (or repellents) it isn’t funny anymore. But what the heck, what’s one more “fly repellent experiment❗️
I am happy to report—— this one seems to work‼️ The recipe I found was 2 drops Peppermint essential oil in a normal size spray bottle and fill with water. So I put 15 drops Peppermint essential oil in a spray bottle and sprayed my food prep area. I sprayed two/three times per day. Didn’t really think it would work but I am happy to report that I have NO - ZERO - flies around my food prep area.
I now use a 1 gallon sprayer and have started spraying the food dish and water area in the stalls and it seems to working there as well. You’re never going to eliminate all flies in a stall but they are now concentrating on the back wall where the fly trap hangs❗️
Looking a little further, I see there are commercial Peppermint sprays, far more expensive than a $6 dollar bottle of Peppermint Essential Oil. I just have never heard of this hack before. Give it a try.
