Breaking Mews 📺

Butterscotch made her television debut on KCRG-TV9 this morning!

She's as sweet as candy, quick on her paws, and already working on her “serious anchor cat” face. Word around KCRG is that she’s also negotiating her next appearance fee in toys and snacks only🍬🐾

Butterscotch is available for adoption, so if you missed her TV segment, you can catch her live at our shelter. No DVR required- wait did that just age us? Is DVR a thing? Probably not but BET we name the next stray animal that now.

Anyway, come scoop up your very own little celebrity before she hires an agent and goes Hollywood on us.

Out of funding, but never out of love 😻

Teenie is coming in hot for Feline Friday, requesting some help for our Cat Companions for Seniors program. This year alone, 14 cats have found their homes through this program!

The catch? We’re out of funding now as of now. We will keep offering this program as the benefits are far too important and meaningful for our organization but would LOVE your help.

Every donation through this post or on our website (please note cat companions in the comments if donating online) help cover adoption fees, supplies, and medical care so seniors can welcome a cat into their homes.

We want to send a HUGE thank you to our friends at for selecting CVHS as their beneficiary of their annual benefit golf outing. We got to hang out this morning and start everyone's day off right with Tana, Daffy and Tweety being just absolutely adorable.

We couldn't do what we do without the support of our community- from the bottom of our paws and hearts, thank you to Skogman Realty and the many sponsors who have made an impact on the lives of the many animals who walk through our doors 💕

Oh hey, I’m Hotch. I'm 13 years young- a distinguished gentleman, professional napper, and sunbeam enthusiast. Chaos? Haven’t caused it in years. I’m officially retired, baby.

I’m FeLV+ (that’s Feline Leukemia). Which means I need to be your one-and-only cat or hang with another cool cat who’s also FeLV+. It doesn’t bother dogs, people, or anyone else. Just a cat thing.

If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate roomie who looks amazing in a tuxedo, look no further. I’m right here at CVHS, waiting for my retirement home.

🎉This past Saturday we had the honor of celebrating Mavis’s 11th birthday right here at CVHS! Instead of asking for presents for herself, Mavis decided to collect gifts for the animals in our care. WOW! Our storage shelves are happier than a dog with two tennis balls.

Thanks to Mavis’s kindness, tails are wagging, whiskers are twitching, and the animals are basically planning to elect her as their president.

Happy 11th birthday, Mavis. You’re officially cooler than cake. 🎂😎

Sure, pumpkin spice is nice… but have you tried adopting a dog? Instant happiness, zero calories.

Eloise- the gorgeous model vibes pup that basically looks like she’s auditioning for the cover of Dog Vogue.

Lettie- a scruffy little sweetheart with the best smile and eyelashes that have major personality. She’s giving “I put eyelashes on my car headlights" vibes.

Happy Tails Update 🐾🐶

Tucker, formerly Paco, is doing fabulous! Check out this update from his family:

"From the day he walked in the door to our house he just fit right in. Tucker loves his big back yard and loves to lay on the deck to sunbathe. He's become quite the Mama's boy and rarely leaves her side and has decided to be a cuddly lap dog despite his 70 lbs. He's super smart and besides getting potty trained he has already learned sit, shake, lay down, his new name, loose leash walking, the words breakfast, supper, come and bed. With 5 girls in our house loving on him he gets lots of pets, attention and kisses and he eats them all up.

We are so thankful for Tucker as he has brought so much joy to our lives."

Amigo 🤝 CVHS Volunteers

But seriously, how cute is this!? Amigo is currently up for adoption here at CVHS- he has tested well with other dogs, but we would do a meet and greet with any pup(s) in your home to make sure everyone is ready for a new family member 🐶💕

Amigo is a little over 2 years old, knows basic commands, and does well for bath time! Amigo would benefit from continued leash training to help him realize he will get to the desired destination, but it doesn't need to be *in two seconds*.

Stop on out and meet Amigo and all his friends- we're open 12-5pm today 🐾
