Happy Tails Update 😺🐾

Miley (formerly Cady) was adopted back in May of 2024 and is living her best life with her fam 😻

"I brought Miley home and she adjusted well immediately and quickly became my best friend. She was exactly what I needed and continues to be every single day. It was just the two of us for a while, but she now has my girlfriend as another mom and she loves playdates with her 3 cats, Kota, Bean, and Queso. The playdates will be an everyday thing in just under two weeks when we all move in together!!

Miley is the sweetest girl. If there is a box, she is either inside of it or on top of it. She's my crafting buddy, loves to cuddle (when she wants to), and never fails to get on your shoulders if you pick her up."

We're so happy for Miley and her family and as always, thank you to those who choose to find their next furry best friend at CVHS 🐾

If you’re looking for a pup who’s equal parts silly, sweet, and social… say hello to Ted!

This charming 6-year-old guy loves soaking up every sunbeam, making new dog friends, showing off his toys, and of course, snacking on treats. He’s a total people-lover with a wonderfully goofy personality that keeps everyone giggling.

He’s also a volunteer favorite for leash walks on the trails (quote from volunteer Cheryl: "I LOVE THIS DOG! BEST WALKER!") and he’s amazing in the car; windows down, ears flapping, living his best life.

Puppy Yoga Update!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Puppy Yoga last weekend! Your smiles, downward dogs, and puppy snuggles helped raise $400 for the animals in our care 🐾💕

A special shoutout to Courtney, our amazing yoga instructor, for leading such a fun and calming session (even with tiny paws climbing all over the mats!). And an extra dose of love to foster mom Carrie, who opened her home to sweet momma Layla, who then surprised us all by giving birth just one day later to seven adorable puppies.

You’ll see plenty of photos below of the puppies and all of you making memories and the best part? All 7 puppies are now available for adoption, along with their beautiful mom, Layla! If you’ve been thinking about adding some puppy joy into your life, now’s the perfect time.

Luna, the PERFECT working doggo 🐾🐶

Meet Luna, a BEAUTIFUL 3½ year old Pointer mix with a big heart 💕This smart, energetic girlie is searching for her perfect person/family, someone who can keep both her brain and body active!

Luna is full of life and love. She thrives on daily activity, whether it’s walks, runs, hikes, or playtime in the yard. She’s very food-motivated, eager to learn, and incredibly smart....she's just the perfect combo for training and bonding.

Luna LOVES people and soaks up all the attention she can get, but she would benefit being the only pet in the home. She has tested okay with some dogs but prefers to keep her circle small.

If you’re looking for a companion who will keep you moving, make you laugh, and always be excited to see you, Luna is your girl!

We are accepting BOTH foster or adoption applications for Luna. The shelter environment is not ideal for her- miss girlie NEEDS to not be confined to a kennel most of the day.

CVHS would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the many men, women and our four-legged friends, who have served and are currently serving in the military. We are committed to supporting our veterans and their pets - not just today, but every day.

Our Pets for Vets program supports our courageous military veterans by helping them find a furry companion. This program allows for veterans, with an approved application, to adopt a cat or dog for half of the normal adoption fee (dogs and cats over 6mo of age) and provides 25% off dog training classes here at CVHS.

Thank you to Capitol Vending for allowing our Pets for Vets program to continue with their sponsorship! We are grateful to be able to honor our heroes, one paw at a time 🐾🐶😺

Lucy (formerly Carly) is just the cutest! Adopted back in August, she captured her family's heart immediately 💕

"Lucy's a little ball of sass, the most vocal kitty cat I've ever met, and she loves to chat. She's also crazy smart and outsmarts Milo her new 1 year old sibling brother, they're still figuring out this whole sibling thing. She's been a total mood-booster in our house."
