What's Chagas disease? Great question!

Chagas disease is an infection often seen in southern states caused by blood-borne parasites that are spread by insect bites. There are several symptoms of Chagas disease that can make it hard to diagnose, so when in doubt, give your veterinarian a call, and don't forget about your best friend's best friend-monthly parasite prevention!

-A cat’s whiskers are incredibly sensitive and can detect changes in their environment, helping them navigate in the dark or tight spaces.

-Cats often purr when they are content, but they can also purr when they're frightened, in pain, or even when they're sick, making purring a form of communication beyond just happiness.

-Cats meow primarily to communicate with humans, not other cats. They’ll often stop meowing once they reach adulthood, using it mostly to get attention from their owners.

-Cats have excellent night vision, allowing them to see in light levels six times lower than what a human needs!

-Cats walk with a "direct registering" pattern, where their back foot steps into the same spot as the front foot on the same side, making their tracks appear neat and almost invisible.

-Cats were revered in ancient Egypt. They were considered sacred animals, symbolizing protection and good fortune.
