Dear Members,

We are excited to share highlights from our recent Community Outreach event on February 17, 2026, at the Essex & Passaic County 4-H “All Paws on Deck” meeting held at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland, NJ.

It was a wonderful evening introducing students to the world of AKC dog sports. Our team demonstrated obedience, scent work, and conformation, while also providing hands-on learning experiences for the students. The dogs were outstanding ambassadors for our club, and the engagement from the 4-H participants was truly inspiring.

A special thank you to Diane Kramer and Hudson, Rudy Fermo and Phoenix, Lisa Brooks and her Grand Champion Standard Poodle, and our team for representing the club with professionalism and enthusiasm. Events like this truly reflect the heart of our mission—educating, mentoring, and inspiring the next generation of dog trainers and competitors.

The January club meeting was well attended, with dinner at an Italian restaurant and games, including a gift exchange. Two new members were approved.

Congratulations to member Kimberly Murat.

Pending AKC:
Királytanyai Ritka Kincsem FCAT SWN RATO DS CGC TKA FITG FTI "Ritka" (Mudi)

Ritka completed her Barn Hunt Open title (RATO) and her overall Novice Scentwork title (SWN)

They also attended the AKC FastCat Invitational. At the invitational Ritka completed her FCAT title, was Best of Breed (fastest Mudi), and placed 10th in the Need for Speed Top 10–12 inches to under 18 inches.

**TRAINING TRICK DOGS**

Obedience classes start next week for all levels.

Starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, before the Beginner II Class, club members will demonstrate some tricks to teach your dog, which can lead to the AKC Trick Dog titles (https://www.akc.org/sports/trick-dog/).

The brief presentation is open to all students. Come early for the fun!!
