Iron County Animal Shelter – Cedar City, UT

We’re looking for passionate animal lovers to join our volunteer team! If you’ve got a little extra time and a lot of love to give, we could really use your help!

We need volunteers for:
🧼 Cleaning kennels and helping keep the shelter tidy
🧹 General upkeep to make the space safe and welcoming
🐶 Best of all — socializing with our amazing dogs! Enrichment, playtime, walks, and love go a LONG way in helping them thrive and find forever homes.

Whether you can give an hour or a few each week, every bit makes a big difference. Come be a part of something rewarding — and spend time with some of the sweetest pups in Iron County!

FINAL UPDATE: Duke and his buddies from the other shelters are safely making their way to rescue!
SECOND UPDATE: thank you to everyone who reached out! At this point it sounds like we have been able to fill this transport and will reach out again if anything changes.
UPDATE: transport needed from Enoch to Filmore now
Filmore to Nephi is now filled
🚨 Urgent Help Needed: Dog Transport Volunteers for Tomorrow! 🚨

Iron County Animal Shelter is reaching out to our amazing community for urgent help transporting several shelter dogs to Nephi, UT TOMORROW so they can make it safely to rescue!

We have:
🐶 1 dog from Iron County Animal Shelter
🐶 3 dogs from Enoch Animal Shelter
🐶 1 additional dog from a partnering location

All of these dogs have rescue placements waiting for them, but their second chance depends on us getting them there — and that’s where YOU come in! ❤️

📍 We are looking for volunteers to help transport these dogs to Nephi.
👉 One person does not need to make the entire trip! We can break this into legs and coordinate meet-up points to make it easier. Even driving a portion of the route makes a huge difference!

Without transport, these pups can’t get to the safety and care they deserve. If you’ve ever wanted to make a real, tangible difference in an animal’s life — this is your moment.

🚗 If you’re available tomorrow and can help (even for part of the trip), please message us ASAP or call the shelter directly at 435-867-7618.
