Meet Jax!!
Jax was found on the side of the road almost frozen and starved. He was brought to VCA Cazenovia Animal Hospital and has been under our care for a week now. Yesterday, Dr Markmann surgically removed his tail and both his ears due to frost bite. He has been eating well and has gained a pound! This little guy is so loving and sweet. We are happy to say, Jax is recovering quite well.

Just a friendly reminder we will be closed November 28th and 29th in celebration of Thanksgiving. If you need to get refills of your pets medications please call ahead to get them before the break. We will resume our regular hours Monday December 2nd.

Thanks giving Pet Safety.

With Thanksgiving being next week here is a few things to know to help keep you pets safe!

Keep pets away from Chocolate, cookies, pies, and sweets (as well as anything “sugar-free” or containing xylitol, which can be fatal for dogs) Alcoholic beverages. Raisins and grapes. Onions, scallions, garlic, turkey and turkey bones.

If you have any other questions or are curious as to what is safe or not safe for your furry friends always contact you primary veterinarian for more information.

Everyone, say hi to Severus Snape, aka Sevi!
Sevi came to us a little over a year ago when a family member of one of our assistants found him as a stray. Our assistant, Katelynn, brought him to Cazenovia Animal Hospital for treatment for an upper respiratory infection. With the help of our staff, who took turns caring for him, he started improving daily. When he was healthy enough, Kathryn, our receptionist (who is currently in vet school), fostered him until he was ready to find his forever home. With all that TLC, he hit the jackpot and found himself a loving home! He now lives with two black labs and rules the house! We are so happy he was able to find such an amazing home! We're so glad we got to see him for his annual visit!

This week is Practice Manager Appreciation Week, so we'd like to take a moment to thank our outstanding practice manager, also known as our chaos coordinator.

Heather has been our practice manager for a little over a year now, but she has been with VCA Cazenovia for over four years!
