Holiday Break at the Barn

Looking for a way to keep your rider engaged over the holiday break? We’re offering Barn Drop-Off Days on:
December 29 & December 30
8:00 AM – 11:00 AM

These drop-off mornings are a great way for Apex students to spend time with the horses, help with barn activities, and enjoy the relaxed pace of the farm. It’s not a structured camp—just a chance to be at the barn, connect with friends, and take part in hands-on tasks with the horses.

Details:

- Open to Apex students ages 7+
- Students must be comfortable managing themselves at the barn
- Normal riding attire and helmets are required
- Please pack a snack and drink for the morning

You’re welcome to sign up for one or both days

Apex Assistant Clinic (no fee email RSVP required)
From 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on both days, we’ll be hosting a short clinic for students interested in becoming Apex Assistants, as well as a refresher session for current assistants.

We’ll cover what’s expected of assistants, review barn rules, and go over how they can best support our program.

Who should attend:

- Students 12+ who take regular lessons at Apex and are interested in applying
- Current Apex Assistants (attendance is required)
- Adults are also welcome to join the Assistant Program
- $50.00 Per Student Per Day
- Parents are encouraged to attend the clinic with their riders

This is a great opportunity to learn more about what it means to be a reliable and responsible part of the Apex team. We look forward to seeing you there!

📣 Reminder for Apex Students!

If you haven’t yet selected your make-up lesson spot for the holiday closure, now’s the time! Make-up slots are still available and can be booked easily through the app or on our website.

We’re also asking any students with outstanding make-ups from earlier in the month to go ahead and schedule now—whether it’s during the holiday break or a regular make-up time. Our goal is to close out all remaining make-ups before the end of the year.

🐴 Make-Up Policy Reminder

We want to remind all students of our make-up policy:

Each rider is allowed one make-up per month. If a lesson is canceled, the make-up must be scheduled and completed within that same month—*** unused make-ups do not roll over***.

Good luck to our Apex Academy Team riders competing this Saturday at WestWorld!

They’ll be showing in the Equidome starting at 8 AM, and we’d love to see our fellow Academy students there to cheer them on.

Admission and parking are completely free — just make sure to tell the parking staff you're there for the horse show and park behind the barns, not in the main event parking (there’s another event happening on-site).

Come support your teammates and enjoy a great morning of riding!

Holiday Makeup Spots Added

We’ve opened up a few more makeup lesson spots for riders affected by the Thanksgiving weekend. These have been added to the calendar and we’ll continue to add more as availability allows.

We’ve seen many of you have already selected your makeup times — thank you!

If you’re still scheduled to ride on Thanksgiving Day, Saturday, or Sunday of that weekend, please be sure to move your lesson to a makeup slot as soon as possible.

Let us know if you have any trouble finding a time that works — we’re happy to help!

Come Cheer On Our Riders at the Arabian Show!

We’d love to invite all of our Apex families and friends to come watch our performance and academy riders compete at the upcoming Arabian Horse Show at WestWorld in Scottsdale. It’s a great chance to see our riders in action and enjoy a full weekend of exciting classes.

We’ll be located in Barn O, so please stop by and say hello! The show is free and open to the public, and runs as follows:

Friday: Performance riders, 8 AM–4/5 PM

Saturday Morning: Academy riders

Saturday Afternoon, Sunday Morning & Sunday Afternoon: Performance riders

Important Parking Information:
There will be a large Pinners Convention happening at the same time. If you don’t let parking attendants know you’re there for the horse show, they’ll likely direct you to the front and possibly charge for parking. The horse show is completely free—including parking—but you’ll need to enter through the Bell Road entrance near the gas station.

Once you enter, take the first available left into the facility. Look for signs that say “Horse Show” or follow the traffic flow in that direction. If anyone tries to stop you to park up front, just let them know you're there for the horse show and continue driving. The road will curve around and lead you directly into the barn area. You can park anywhere near the barns for free.
