🌟 KiTerra Ranch Horse of the Month: Diego! 🌟

Meet Diego, an 11-year-old Quarter Horse with a big heart and a love for adventure. Carol discovered him at Turner Performance Horses in Montana, and the two have been partners for the past four years.
Together, they enjoy hitting the trails and spending time working cattle — whether it’s sorting, pushing, or gathering, Diego is always up for the job. Carol describes him as dependable, calm, and easygoing, yet with just the right amount of “get-up-and-go” to keep things exciting.

A true all-around partner and a joy to ride — congratulations to Diego, our KiTerra Ranch Horse of the Month! 🐴❤️

Ever watched two horses standing head-to-tail, gently nibbling each other’s necks or withers? That’s called mutual grooming, and it’s one of the sweetest sights in the herd! 🤍

When horses groom each other, they’re not just scratching an itch — they’re strengthening their bond, showing trust, and communicating friendship. It’s their way of saying, “You’re part of my herd.”

These quiet, caring moments remind us just how social and emotional horses really are. 🐎💫

🦷🐴 A healthy mouth = a happy horse!

Dental care isn’t always the first thing horse owners think about — but it plays a huge role in keeping your equine partner healthy and comfortable.

We recently hosted a dental day at the ranch with Veronica Jones from Red Barn Equine Services, and the horses are feeling great! 🙌

Floating your horse’s teeth (gently filing down sharp edges) helps them chew properly, absorb nutrients more efficiently, and prevents painful sores or infections.

👉 Signs your horse may need floating:
• Dropping food or chewing on one side
• Bloody saliva or excessive drooling
• Facial swelling or foul breath
• Reluctance to eat or weight loss

💡 Most horses need a dental check-up at least once a year, while younger and senior horses may need it more often. Done properly, floating is quick, safe, and pain-free.

✨ Regular dental care is a simple, essential way to support your horse’s overall wellness — from the inside out.

✨ October Horse of the Month: Aurora ✨

Meet Aurora, a beautiful 9-year-old Arabian who has been part of Katie’s life for over four years. Together, they enjoy trail riding, arena work, clinics, and the occasional show. Aurora even makes a wonderful hiking companion along the scenic roads and trails around KiTerra Ranch.

Aurora spent her first three years as a halter show horse, but now she and Katie are having fun exploring new disciplines—like western dressage—on their journey together. Katie was first drawn to Aurora’s gentle eyes, sweet demeanor, and undeniable beauty.

For Katie, who has loved horses (especially Arabians) since she was a young girl, Aurora truly is the embodiment of a lifelong dream come true!
