In 2021, we joined the Adams County Farmers Market—and what a great journey it's been. Despite the distance, it just worked. Nic would bake late Friday, I’d hit the road early Saturday, and we fell into a rhythm that felt right. Especially since we were able to fill a need in the Adams County community- good healthy bread.
Over time, Nic started attending more, especially when Lisa needed to be elsewhere. He grew to love it too—because Gettysburg has a special kind of vibe. Much like Catonsville, where our bakery lives now, it’s a place that truly supports small businesses and helps them thrive. As the market has grown and new local bakers have stepped in, it feels like the right time for us to step back and let others take the reins.
This kind of feels like a breakup—one where both sides are growing, but there’s still so much love and respect. To our regulars: thank you. From our 5yo friend and his weekly muffin, to another friends weekly baguette and croissants, to every loyal bread customer—you’ve meant the world to us.
But this isn’t goodbye. We’ve made lasting friendships with fellow vendors—some whom you’ll still see in our shop. You’ll find bread dipping spices from 4 Herbs & 7 Spices Ago, and jars from The Kombucha Lady. We love our Weikert's Egg Farm eggs, Deer Run Farm meat, and we’re already looking forward to pumpkin and squash from Weaving Roots Farm, Hilltop Farm Market and MUDCOLLEGE Farm for our fall pies. This week’s strawberry rhubarb pies feature rhubarb from Green Barn Farm, and we’re glad that Phil's Dills Gourmet Pickles is present at two of our other markets—our pickle cravings are safe. We’re also working on ways to keep charmingmeadow and Maggie's Farm Gettysburg produce in our focaccia, Faerie Springs Farm goat cheese on our baguettes, incredible fruit in our poptarts and, of course, all of the above in our bellies. And so many more!
We’re so grateful for your support and for letting us be part of your Saturday mornings. We’ll miss you dearly.
