Russell County Fair & Horse Show There are over 40 committee chairmen and nearly 200 volunteers that bring together this annual nine - day event.

The Russell County Fair in Castlewood, Virginia is a non-profit organization that celebrates annually with a particular theme and is careful to include every element of Russell County possible. The Russell County Fair has been voted the best fair in Virginia for 11 of the past 14 years, dating back to 1998.
