Our little superstar has been hard at work with K9’s Virtue LLC — not only did he complete a week of boarding training, but he’s also crushing his puppy training! 🐶✨ We’re so proud of his progress.

Big shoutout to K9’s Virtue LLC for their amazing work — they’ll also be training our staff once we open, making sure everyone knows how to read behavior and keep all pups happy & safe. 💛

In April of 2024, I made the decision to pursue a dog daycare and boarding business. I can honestly say that I have learned a lot and I never thought it would be this hard. What a journey it has been!

I looked at multiple franchise opportunities (and decided against them). I evaluated over 15 location across the Front Range with the help of RD and Jayme with Hoff & Leigh. I explored different funding options with Tonya Mazurek and Erik Eiland. I also looked at multiple General Contractors before settling on Pete Vastyan with Vastyan Construction. Without these folks, I would have never got to today!

Today, 16 months after starting the journey, I signed on the dotted line to purchase the building and to secure the business loan for The Ruff House! Our first location will be at 3197 N Commerce Court in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Pretty excited that we have got over the next hurdle. There are still more challenges ahead, but I got this!!!

The first saw cut and nail hammered is this Monday with an opening in November. I can’t wait to welcome our first dogs and owners to The Ruff House.

Thanks to all that have helped with this journey!!! So excited that Meghan Schaefer will be an integral part of this business. I will keep you posted on our progress.

This soon-to-be 6-year-old heartthrob is a professional napper, expert cuddler, and full-time Mama’s Boy (seriously—she even has a tattoo of his adorable face 💘). Theo’s favorite hobbies include park sniff-a-thons with Grandpa and being the softest little spoon in the house.
