As dog trainers we see the profound effect that food has on our dog’s behavior and overall longevity and wellbeing. I decided it was time to figure out what really is best for our pups and how to make those options available to everyone. Why is raw, fresh food the best option for your dog?
➡️Allergy Relief - The ingredients in kibble are generally vast, including synthetic vitamins and minerals, fillers, starches and by-products. This means that if your dog is having a reaction it can be very difficult to figure out what ingredient is ACTUALLY causing the reaction. Most often times dogs don’t have an allergy to protein sources but to one of the many unnecessary ingredients in your dog’s kibble. Providing fresh food for your pup can prevent common allergies or make it much easier to figure out what is causing the problem in the first place.
➡️Enjoyment & Variety - Can you imagine eating the same exact thing every single day? Kibble is cooked at high temperatures which not only limits the nutritional value but also decreases the natural flavors and overall enjoyment. Manufacturers will often add artificial flavors or sugars to increase palatability. Fresh food allows for your dog to consume what is most biologically appropriate for them, not to mention much more enjoyment!
➡️Better Dental Health - Dental Disease is a common problem now in canines, and an expensive one to treat. Fresh food and raw meaty bones provide optimal oral health that clean teeth the way biology intended. Kibble on the other hand increases plague build-up and can cause even more dental issues over time, and cost you more money at the vet.
➡️Cancer & Disease Prevention - Dogs have NO biological requirement for carbs in their diet. Starches, fillers and synthetic ingredients can cause long-term issues for dogs since they are biologically designed to consume whole prey. You can avoid the unknown and potential risks and un-pronounceable ingredients by switching to fresh food!
