Faith in Horsemanship & Our Daily Lives
โToday I found myself expanding my thoughts and pondering the character trait of faith. You know the Bible tells us in Hebrews chapter 11, that faith is a substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen.
First of all, without faith in God it would be impossible for me to do most of what I do. We need faith in our family, faith in our friends, faith in our horses even. So, when I do anything with him, I trust him. When I step up on his back, I have faith that I am going to come home tonight and that I am going to have a great ride. What is faith? Well think of it like this, when you flip the light switch, what do you expect to have happen? You expect the light to come on. You flip the light switch in faith, knowing that it is going to come onโฆ.. you pick up the reins in faith, knowing your horse is going to stop. You ask him to back up in faith, knowing that he is going to back up. He has to have faith too; he has to have faith in you. For him to have faith in you, You actually have to be dependable and consistent for him. When I think about faith, I honestly think it is one of the ๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ค๐๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ in all of our lives.โ
