Wishing all my Dapper Dogs a very Merry Christmas!!!

Photos this year didn't go quite as planned, thanks to a busted phone and a diabolical adventure with Verizon to get a replacement. I have several more pictures on a little digital camera, which I will get downloaded and posted... when I find it 🤦🏼‍♀️

Enjoying some much needed rest and downtime after a long year, and wildly busy Holiday grooming marathon. There will be more changes for Dapper Dog in 2026, but changes that are both welcome, and good for all. ❤️🎄🐶🎄❤️

Good morning and Happy Friday, Dapper Family!!!
I have sat on this decision, and delayed this post, for a while... but, it must be done. All grooming rates will increase, effective January 1st. In almost 8 years, I have increased rates only twice. I strive to keep my prices affordable, but I am significantly behind local average, and overhead costs have sky-rocketed. I simply can't afford to continue absorbing costs, and my aging body can't keep adding appointments to cover the gaps. I am working on finalizing an official structure, but some rates will increase more than others. Our community is blessed to have many absolutely AMAZING groomers, I am blessed to network closely with them, and consider many of them friends. Some of my prices are $40-60 less than average, which is a disservice to myself and my fellow groomers. I know everyone is having to stretch every dollar these days, and I understand the affect of added expenses, but it is time. As a peace offering, I will do one last round of savings certificates prior to the increase. You can purchase your certificates now through December 10th and they will be valid for use beginning Jan 1st. There are more changes to come for Dapper Dog Grooming in 2026, but they will be good... for my clients, for me, for my family.
I thank you all for your continued support, and for sharing all of your wonderful doggos through the years. This has been so much more than a career, and has filled my heart in ways words could never explain.

Snow looks a little different in the grooming salon... hahaha!!! 🤣

While there has NOT been suspected Kennel Cough in the Dapper Den, it has been noted elsewhere. Despite the highest levels of due diligence and/or vaccination requirements, this is something that simply exisits within the industry. PLEASE keep up on those vaccines, watch for symptoms and, above ALL else... regardless of YOUR plans, keep your dogs HOME if there are noted signs!!! This applies to boarding, daycare, grooming, stores, ANY public space or gathering. While the MAJORITY of dogs recover quickly, there can be fatal consequences with all respiratory illnesses, especially to older, younger, and immuno-compromised dogs. Please don't be selfish and risk the well-being of others. 'Tis the season of extra awareness and understanding... don't be offended if you're asked to collect your dog(s). We are not party crashers, we are protecting all.

Tomorrow is the day!!! Music, chili contest, baked goods, raffle items and a 50/50 drawing. There are some GREAT items up for grabs... awesome pieces from local artists, health and beauty certificates and goods, doggy items, you name it! And, the main item is a PEW PEW... ka-pow!!!
Bring the whole family and support an awesome organization that does so many amazing things for our local doggos!!

Somedays, the emotions in the Dapper Den run high... started my day with the most perfect new doodle baby, Larry. Getting to form a relationship with your babies from the get go is heart warming and helps develop much-needed trust. The puppy snuggles were top notch. Ended the day with one of the original Dapper Dogs... a dog who is now almost 16, her owner is in his 90s and still drives her to me and then sits with her while we groom her the best we can. I've thought each groom for the past year and a half would likely be the last. I threw my Holiday backdrop up real quick and snapped a quick photo. Not sure if it means more to Nova's Dad, or me... I've spent almost 9 years grooming her, and they both hold an enormously special place in my heart.
When my body is tired and absolutely aching (most days), I question how many more years I can keep up with the demands of grooming. Days like today remind me that I will do it until I am physically incapable. Short story long... I sure do LOVE my Dapper Dogs. A million thank yous to all the Dapper Humans for sharing them with me.

Really hoping that our Dapper Family can pull through and make big things happen... as previously posted, I am helping organize the 3rd Annual Fur Pets Sake Chili Cook-off Fundraiser event Nov 8th. We are still needing chili entries, raffle items, and baked goods. Lindsey has had some BIG things piled on her plate, and some HUGE unexpected rescue expenses... like nursing two pups through a horrible illness and saving BOTH of them!! Really hoping we can all rally together and make this a super successful event!! I am working on finishing a super cool hand-painted dog bowl, and will have a FREE GROOMING along with other fun doggy goods up for grabs. We have a graciously donated 🔫 that will be in a main raffle. If you have the ability to give a raffle item, cook even mediocre chili, or can at least bake without a fire extinguisher, please PLEASE let us know as soon as possible! And, absolutely plan on attending... it is family friendly, and tons of FUN!!
