Happy New Year to you all! This pandemic has been extremely difficult for all. It has been just as difficult for our little furbabies. When they are ill and need a vet visit, they are seen alone. You can't go into the office with them. When I lost Baxter in May, he had to be taken into the office while I waited in the car. When it was determined that I couldn't be with him in his final moments, the vet made sure he was comfortable. I have held off getting shots for the furbabies. Not having a job and not knowing when I will have one, the kitties will have to wait. I make sure they are fed, loved and kept clean. They are brushed and nails are clipped. In the months that I have been home I have come to realize that each one is unique. I can tell them each by there meow. I find myself calling for them and they answer. Like many of us, our pets are out saving grace. They provide love and companionship. They comfort is when we are sad. They bring us not and happiness in this uncertain world. More and more I am appreciative of my kitties. I love them and I know they love me!

This little girl is Tiki. Weighing in at just under 4 pounds she has a fire about her. She loves to nap near her Mama. She loves to drink water from the bathroom sink. She lays in the bathroom sink even with water in it. She loves water. She sits on the edge of the tub while I shower. Her little eyes speak volumes. I know I have done the right thing in adopting all my little furbabies. Happy Birthday Tiki! My itty bitty kitty!

Salem is my little chocolate point siamese. The rowdiest of the 4 adoptees. He talks a great deal. He likes to carry on conversations even if you aren't paying attention to him! He WILL get your attention. He loves to be brushed and have his little face washed. He loves a cool, damp washcloth run over his face. With the humidity all my kitties allow me to cool them down this way. Salem is a very good eater. Never turning up his nose at any food. His favorite is Mac and cheese. Happy Birthday my little Salem! You bring joy and smiles to me every day!

This little girl has come a long way from the shy little underweight kitten rescued in Puerto Rico in 2017. She turns 3 today. Along with her little sister and brothers she has fought stomach problems, urinary problems. She has become a strong, healthy, trusting little girl. Happy Birthday Poppit. Mama loves you!

There have been many changes to our little fur family since the Covid 19 breakout. With being furloughed in April I have spent my days at home with my kitties taking care of them and finally getting things done around the house. When it comes to the furbabies there have been a lot of growth. We have shared meals and have set into a kind of routine. Let's start with my baby black bear Baxter. I lost him in May. He had been getting thinner and I noticed a slow down. I got him to the Vet and after many tests found he had Evans syndrome. This disease is fatal and doesn't offer a good outcome. With a very heavy heart I made the decision to end his pain. To allow him to be free of discomfort. The sad truth is I didn't get to hold him and say goodbye. With the virus I had to leave him and wait for the Vets diagnosis and then his suggestion to end Baxters pain. I had him cremated, a paw print made. With the loss of Baxter, the other kitties were quiet mourning in their own way. His sibling Bailey has taken it the hardest. She would sit quietly looking out the window to watch for his return. She has slowly come back into her own, but she does need more cuddles than before which I gladly give. She has no buffer between her and the other kitties as Baxter was her shield. She now tends for herself and let's the others know to leave her alone. She comes up on my lap in the early morning as this is our special time. I have my coffee with Bailey and we watch the sun come up over the beautiful pine trees where we live. My heart is still heavy from my loss of my baby black bear but I know we will meet again some day. I am so very fortunate to have had him in my life.

My little furbabies are the best.
When I am down, they are the best cuddlers. Have had a lot of "down" days. Can count on my babies even more than humans sometimes. The kitties don't ask for anything but love, good and a clean litter box. Their love is unconditional. I can trust that their love is genuine. I love my babies, Baxter, Bailey, Oliver, Montana, Smokey, Salem, Tiki, Pun'kin and Poppy!

the little ones are getting bigger. They are coming into their own. Each one is developing into their own little cat. They are lovable, fun, sometimes crazy, but they are mine and I am theirs.
