Not an easy post….
Last night at 12:30 we made the heartbreaking decision to let Mr Giggles go to a better place.
We took him to Southshore Equine for further evaluation by a Equine Infection specialist. Mr Giggles was diagnosed with Lyme and Anaplasmosis. It was also determined he could have underlying neurological problems(WNV,EEE, or rabies). But that remained uncertain because testing isnt always as quick as we would like it to be.
We started him on series of antibiotics, anti inflammatories, IV’s and pain meds. We brought home with a plan in place to administer his medications and give him 48 hours to respond and reevaluate.
Last night he became very restless and it was apparent that whatever else was going on was taking over his body and he became neorogically distressed. So we made the toughest decision and horse owner has to make and decided it was best to let him go.
Trot in the fields of heaven my baby boy. Ill hug you my dreams.
