Today we said goodbye to a very special old girl. 💔🐴

Lil Hubba Shutdown lived an incredible 30 human years—that’s about 120 horse years! She lived a great life and received every ounce of love we could possibly give her.

She gave us some fabulous babies over the years, and then spent the last 10 years enjoying the retirement she deserved—eating good, getting loved on, and being the best yard ornament anybody could ever ask for. ❤️

Thirty years is a blessing, but somehow it still doesn’t feel long enough. Lil Hubba Shutdown will be missed by so many, but I’m going to especially miss looking out every day and seeing her there. She was simply part of our everyday life, and it’s going to feel very different without her.

Run free, sweet old girl. 🐴 You earned your rest. Thank you for the babies, the memories, and 30 wonderful years. You were loved right up until the very end. ❤️

It’s always bittersweet watching one leave our pasture, but we’re so excited for Murphy and the wonderful life waiting for him. Congratulations Kendra, his new owner—we can’t wait to follow along on his next adventure! 🥰

Around here, they’re usually either eating, playing, getting into somebody’s business, or coming WAY too close to the camera because personal space simply does not exist. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

But goodness, we sure love these sweet little faces and their big personalities! ❤️

But apparently nobody informed these little hoodlums that they are supposed to be helping me SELL THEM. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Me: “Ears up! Look pretty! Just stand there for TWO SECONDS!”

Them: “Absolutely not.” 🐴💨

Instead, I get ears back, eyes closed, mouths open, butts in the camera, somebody walking off, somebody attacking the camera, and at least one acting like they’ve never been handled a day in their life. 😂😂😂

So at this point, forget the professional sales pictures… Y’ALL GET BLOOPERS! 🤣

Good thing disposition can’t be taught, because apparently neither can modeling. 😜

They may not understand the assignment, but they sure are cute little hoodlums! ❤️🐴

Congratulations to Kendra Vondersaar on the purchase of Murphy! 💙🐴

Murphy will soon be packing his bags and heading to Indiana, where we know he is going to have a fabulous life! We are so excited for Kendra and can’t wait to watch what the future holds for these two.

🚛 Now here’s the important part…

We have a shipper Lunow will be headed EAST, around the 16th of August and there’s room on the trailer!

❤️ THIS is what it’s all about. ❤️

Two videos, eight years apart, but they tell the exact same story about the kind of horses we strive to raise at Corbett Creek Ranch.

The first is sweet Hadley hugging Tovi and leading her around. 🥹🐴 There’s just something special about seeing a little one love on and confidently handle a weanling.

Then there’s a video from 8 years ago of Mykayla out in the pasture picking up and cleaning out a weanling’s feet—with NO halter on. Just standing there, trusting her completely.

You can breed for color.
You can breed for conformation.
You can breed for dun factor, pedigree, and performance potential.

But DISPOSITION MATTERS. ❤️

These babies are handled from the very beginning, and our goal has always been to raise horses that are willing, trusting, kind, and ready to be someone’s partner.

Eight years between these videos, and our philosophy hasn’t changed one bit.

Pretty is nice. Color is a bonus. But a good mind is PRICELESS. 🐴❤️

These two videos may just be some of my favorites because they show exactly what we want a Corbett Creek Ranch baby to be.
