Jarred has been in the shelter for 607 long days. He was attacked by another dog while with a foster, which has left a scar on him. He is very distrustful of other dogs and would do best as an only child. He is 4 years old, and weighs 51 pounds. He is overdue for a family of his own! Jarred is a Labrador mix, and would be your best friend forever if you give him a chance. Plus he is sponsored. We are open Tuesday-Saturday from noon to 4pm.

Oreo is around 10 years old, and he’s just SO confused and anxious here at the shelter. At his age, he should be napping on a soft bed, getting spoiled with treats, and soaking up all the love in the world—not stuck in a loud, unfamiliar kennel wondering what happened.

This sweet little chihuahua mix was found by a kind-hearted stranger and taken to Carthage Animal Hospital, where the amazing vets gave him the care he needed—vaccinations, a full check-up, and a second chance. Now he’s with us, just waiting for someone to see him and say, “you’re coming home with me.”

Oreo is a gentle soul. While he is slowly losing his sight and hearing, it doesn’t stop him from enjoying the sunshine on his back or hopping around in the grass during a walk. He’s not asking for much—just a calm, peaceful home where he can feel safe, loved, and finally relax.

If you’ve ever thought about giving a senior dog a chance, Oreo is that dog. He deserves to spend his golden years knowing what it means to be cherished.

We’re open Tuesday through Saturday from 12–4pm, or you can fill out an adoption application on our website. Please come meet him—he’s ready for his forever. 🖤

PUPDATE: ADOPTED! 😍😍😍
This is Banks… He came to us after being found lying in the middle of the road—skinny, exhausted, and all alone. We think he’s about 8 months old and most likely a shepherd mix.

This poor guy is really struggling in the shelter. The stress is just too much for him. He’s been digging at the floor of his kennel so much that it’s causing him to have deep, painful gashes in his paw pads. There’s not much we can do for that other than keep them clean and hope they don’t get worse.

Banks desperately needs a forever home or even a foster home — somewhere quiet where he can decompress and start to feel safe. He’s still just a baby and really deserves a chance to heal both physically and emotionally.
