☀️ Extreme Heat Is Dangerous for Pets ☀️

As temperatures climb, remember that if it’s hot for you, it’s even hotter for your pets.

🐾 A few simple steps can help keep them safe:

* 💧 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
* 🌳 Make sure they have access to shade or, even better, air conditioning.
* 🚶 Walk dogs early in the morning or after the sun goes down.
* 🐾 Check the pavement with the back of your hand—if it’s too hot for you to hold for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for their paws.
* 🚗 Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes. Temperatures can become deadly incredibly fast.

Signs of heatstroke include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red gums
• Weakness or stumbling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Collapse

We are exhausted but our hearts are full! We were able to provide veterinary care for 142 pets today! If we didn’t get to see your pets we truly apologize…we had over 100 pets check in by 8am 😮 I can’t say enough about this staff today that went above and beyond and with a willing spirit ❤️
