Smith County Fair Dog show is 9:30am tomorrow morning (June 28th) with the cat show following.

Every year I get questions so here are some answers.
1- any age person can show their dog or cat
2- your dog/cat needs literally no skill or experience
3- this is for FUN to celebrate our pets and the bond we have with them.
4- Please only bring friendly dogs and have them on a leash
5- takes place at the Ag Center Arena
6- there is a Junior Handler and Best Dressed category.

We are whipped but we were able to provide free veterinary services to 116 patients today. We met lots of new patients and people. Thanks to all who made it happen and my entire team who worked their tails off today for all the right reasons. I know Ricky is smiling in Heaven tonight.

Tomorrow is a very important day! Tomorrow (Friday, May 23rd) we honor the memory of a man who loved animals in a big way. Ricky Rankin had a heart of gold and believed in taking great care of his pets.

Here’s the deal. There are no strings attached. We want to reach the community and provide much needed veterinary care. We won’t be doing surgery tomorrow, but we will be doing vaccines, bloodwork, heartworm tests, fecals, and most importantly exams! We know times are tough and this is a great opportunity to let us check lumps and bumps, do dental exams, listen to their hearts and check their ears.

Tomorrow is first come, first serve. We will provide services until 4pm.

Also Helen’s food truck will be there serving up their delicious catfish and Pelican shaved ice will be there!

And free pup cups!

It is time for our 3rd annual Ricky Rankin Veterinary Outreach Day! Ricky was always so generous and believed in the value of veterinary care. So we created this day to make sure that veterinary care is available to EVERYONE!

Free Veterinary care May 23rd! First come, first serve. This has been an amazing event in the past to help bridge the gap for many families.

Did you know that bats were the most common animal to be found with rabies in TN last year?

Did you know that a bat can transmit rabies to a human without leaving a visible mark?

If you should ever find a bat in your home you should
1- minimize any contact with the bat
2- contact your state lab about having it tested for rabies if contact with a human could have occurred during sleep.

This month we are offering rabies vaccinations for $12. Feel free to just drive up and give us a call to come to your vehicle!
