Good morning my critter lovers! I am in search of a few people who would like to start training with me. No, not Dog Training! Professional Pet Sitting!🐾🤩💚 I have been building clientele since 2010 and need to start finding my wonderful clients a new Pet Sitter, who will take the job seriously and care for others pets as they would their own or better. I will review everything from scheduling tips, feeding routines, medication rounds, professional cleanup, home care and soooo much more. I’m looking for someone who might want to make this a full time business or be in it for the long haul with clients. People need a steady, trustworthy, loving and flexible human to care for their Pets AND Home while they are away. I always encourage my clients to have a back up but in this case, I would be training you to take over current clients and they would need to find a new back up. Some days I work one hour, while other days I’ve worked up to 16 hours. The more clients you help, the more steady your income. You have to be willing to grow or be satisfied with the load you have. I have a few helpers who have full time jobs, they’re amazing people and put the time in before and after work. I am looking for someone who would take clients on and be available 24/7 for all schedules. Okay, 24/7 might mean overnight care or just drop in visits but with communication available 24/7 (texts/check ins with away clients). We have time! I won’t be hanging up my p**p scoop towel officially until months from now but I’d like to get started meeting potential Pet Sitters and introducing critter clients and their humans. Important: I have always offered care to any critter that is in my abilities; so basically everything from fish to livestock. Yes, a wide range. No, I wasn’t always comfortable with reptiles or chinchillas but once you jump in and learn from your amazing clients how the ropes go, it becomes manageable and then becomes love. Livestock and large breed dogs need someone who can lift and be strong enough to walk the animal or evacuate if needed. Not necessarily need the tools because most clients have that available. However, I have collected a large amount of tools for many different jobs, I’d be willing to hand some over but I promise over years of doing this, you’ll have your own collection. Must be okay with a lot of driving. I have clients from Washoe to Johnson lane. Sometimes all in same day for days at a time. Time management is important. Not afraid to get dirty, pick up p**p (and I mean so much p**p: dog, horse, cat litter..okay, lets just say) or take a hit/fall/nip/scratch/etc every once in a while. Customer service is very important, must know how to be okay with a clients routine, even if it isn’t exactly how you would do it for your own, although while still providing the upmost care for the critter. Must be okay with taking critters to their veterinary for appointments, this includes safe travel, patience and time.
I would like to start interviews and training after the 1st of February, 2026. I will be able to compensate you durning training hours but not at full price. I have slowed down on clients the past year, so I am not expecting any 16hour days in future. It’s kind of go with the flow right now with scheduling and people like to schedule last minute, so I need someone willing to work with me in that way and also understand that I will not provide full income during training; once I walk away from this adventure, the clients will be all yours. You can change your prices and or keep clients the same. I suggest changing, I’ve been very busy and lucky to provide my clients with a very reasonable price guide. Another biggie, must be willing to work 7 days a week, this is a business not a 9-5. Holidays are the busiest and most income, I tend to take one holiday off a year. Yea, this job might be wonderful for a college student or single person without the responsibilities and restrictions of a full time family I love my family, I made the job work. I started my business before having a family, then grew my business to be able to keep my kiddos with me instead of daycare. My clients knew me and my experience(over 30 yrs of pet care & training) before bringing my kids around their critters. However, it’s like working 5 jobs at once, I do not recommend it and most clients are weary about having kiddos around their critters and homes for understandable reasons. My kiddos got the best animal knowledge by watching and helping me but as they got older, it got more difficult to manage alllllll the things.
I will walk you through city & state licensing, encourage you to get set up with Pet Sitters International (which helps with stats and advertising) and also wide range Pet Sitters Insurance. This is definitely not something I’m willing to just hand over to anyone, it takes a special someone to be able to juggle all this. I could have grown my business x 50 probably but my priorities over the years changed as my family grew. Now, I’m back in class and moving on to a new adventure. Please call or text me if you’re at all interested. We will set something up after the new year and maybe get you started on a new adventure too ! The best part about being a Professional Pet Sitter, is the amount of love you spread and receive back from pets and their humans 🐾💚
