Friends of the Carroll County Dog Pound, Ohio This page is run by volunteers and not by the pound. We are glad to answer questions when we can but some questions may need directed to the pound staff.

This is a county operated animal control shelter. The Dog Warden complies with the policies and procedures set forth by the Carroll County Commissioners. Please be respectful to the Dog Warden and staff. It is their
cooperati

on that allows dogs to be posted on this site! The pound is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. except holidays. The standard adoption fee (cash recommended) is $40 for adult dogs, $45 for puppies, and $35 for seniors/special needs dogs. It includes a microchip, vaccination and the dog license, which will be mailed to you. The pound is not able to comply with requests to hold dogs. Dogs are adopted out to the public on a first come, first served basis. This means the first person to actually come to the pound to adopt the dog,
not just see the dog or play with the dog or talk about the dog,
will be the one to receive the dog. If multiple people are at the pound for the same dog at open, a drawing will be held to determine who will adopt the dog. Rescues: message the page.

He is a young Australian Shepherd mix with a smile that could brighten just about anyone’s day. From his wagging tail to his happy grin, he looks ready for whatever adventure comes next.

This boy is hoping his next stop is a home of his own—one where he can trade kennel life for family life and become someone’s loyal companion.

Ready for adventure… or snacks. Preferably both. 😉

🟢 Reintroducing ID 25-185 🐾

This sweet senior gentleman came to the pound as a stray and is estimated to be around 9 years old.

At approximately 15 pounds, he’s the perfect size for sharing a couch, a chair, or a sunny spot by the window. He usually prefers to do his business outside and has been keeping his kennel fairly clean.

Like many older dogs, he takes a little time to decide who makes it into his inner circle. He’s not the type to hand out his trust to everyone right away—but once you’ve earned it, you’ll have a loyal little companion who will be happy to call you his person.

So far, he has not appeared reactive to other dogs, although the pound does not perform formal temperament testing.

This boy has already found himself homeless once. The pound would love to see his next chapter be one filled with comfort, kindness, and a family of his own❣️

This handsome young fella has had quite an adventure. After spending months on the run before finally being brought to safety, he’s still learning that people can be trusted and that life doesn’t have to be so scary.

Right now, he may bark or try to hide when he’s unsure, but who can blame him after everything he’s been through? He’ll need a patient adopter willing to give him time, understanding, and a chance to settle into a routine.

With consistency, kindness, and a little patience, this boy just might discover that the best adventure is finally having a place to call home. ❤️
