Farming, let's gooo! I've had so many requests for "medieval food" (once folks find out I'm a former medievalist) so this year I've started a growing series for forgotten medieval fruits, herbs, and vegetables.
In pre-industrialized medieval societies, the plants grown not only thrived in poorer soils, but they were also what we'd consider superfoods and densely packed with nutrients: Good King Henry, Orach, Black Salsify, Skirrets, Alexanders, Fat Hen, Lovage, Corn Salad, Chervil, Rampion, Medlar, Quince, Montmorency cherries, and more.
Are these something y'all might be interested in trying?
