As a groomer I get asked often, “when do I start grooming my puppy?”. And the answer to that is Immediately, as soon as your puppy comes home you can work on training!

Our puppy package is an introduction to grooming, it starts with a bath and we slowly introduce our HV blow dryer. The blow dryer can seem pretty intimidating to a puppy that hasn’t seen much of the outside world, we start slowly and work at the dogs pace. (at home you can get them ready for the sound and feeling by using your blow dryer set on a cool setting.) We introduce the clippers to your pup by cleaning up around their eyes, paw pads and sanitary areas. (at home you can use the end of an electric toothbrush to imitate the sound and feeling the clippers make.) We finish with a good brush out, clean the ears and clip their nails. WOOF! That’s a lot of work for a little puppy, all while learning to stand on a tall table.

We suggest the puppy package for your pup before a full grooming appointment to ensure that your pup has an idea of what to expect. Its also a great way for your pup to get to know their groomer. Give us a call to schedule a one on one puppy package session today!
