What should I do if my dog falls?
If you see your dog fall, observe him carefully. Some injuries are immediately obvious, while others are not apparent until hours or days after the fall. Even if you do not see your pet take a tumble, you should suspect a fall if you note any of the following signs:

- Reluctance to stand or walk
- Pain when lying down or rising
- Stiff gait
- Limping
- Difficulty breathing
- Whining
- Lethargy
- Decreased appetite or difficulty eating

Serious injuries from falls need to be immediately evaluated and treated by your veterinarian.

Is snoring normal in cats?

Somehow, cats manage to be adorable even then they’re snoring. Your kitten’s snore could sound like a little snuffle or could be loud enough to hear from across the room. Either way, it may or may not be normal.

Snoring occurs due to vibrations in your kitten’s upper airways, including their nose and throat. Sleeping in a certain position is a relatively common reason your kitten might snore, and it’s not a cause for concern. You’re also more likely to hear snoring in flat-faced cat breeds, like Persians. However, other causes could be contributing to your cat’s snoring, such as swelling in the area due to allergies or infection. If your cat develops a new snore that you’re noticing regularly, we recommend making an appointment with your veterinarian to rule out underlying medical conditions.

Love Is Blind season 8 meets Dog Day Out... and we're ready to say, "I do!"

Thanks to VCA Charities' amazing partners at Minneapolis Animal Care & Control, in collaboration with their Dog Day Out initiative, we are grateful for the success of the Fido Field Trip Program! Back in the Spring, the shelter dogs got their own “Love is Blind” adventure when the fabulous ladies of Season 8 joined the fun, taking some shelter pups out for unforgettable field trips filled with smiles.

Did you know that research shows that dogs who experience a single day outside the shelter are 10x more likely to be adopted?! These outings give shelter dogs a break from the kennel, which reduces stress while increasing community volunteerism.
