August 9th, KMC Equestrian LLC was thrilled to host Kellie Hunter - KH Dragon Heart's Lair for a dressage clinic. All rider's had a very productive day and learned lots!

KMC Equestrian is very excited to welcome her back for another clinic on September 13th. Stay tuned for sign-up information!

We would like to make a shout-out to one rider in particular, Kendall. Kendall arrived early in the morning and stayed all day long watching, learning, and asking questions. It is inspiring to see how seriously she used this opportunity to learn!

KMC Equestrian would also like to thank Shawn and Matthew for getting up to the barn very early and helping to finish the final preparations before the day started. Thank you!

On August 8th, KMC Equestrian clients attended the final East Central Buckle Series WSCA show. This show was a blast!

Congratulations to Shawn on consistent improvements on his times! Luna and Shawn make a great team! Congratulations to Rachael on her fun return to the show ring! Loved watching the strategic horse planning between her and her husband Shawn! Ilah made some great improvements! She is getting better and better every time!

Congratulations to Faith and Bayhill Like Magic (Owned By KMC Equestrian LLC) for their Riders With Disabilities (RWD) Division Champion placing!

The first weekend of August, KMC Equestrian Clients competed at the NWDA Fall Classic Show. I am super proud of all of my clients, this show came up so fast!

I would specifically like to mention and congratulate Emmaline on her wonderful show in the Walk/Trot division on Mean Jane "Grace". This congratulations is particularly earned for a couple reasons.
The first being that this was Emmaline's first show in her entire life - we are so proud of how confident she was in the show ring!
The second reason is that Emmaline placed phenomenally! In her first class, of her first horse show, Emmaline placed FIRST against a class of 5 other great riders! In her second class which was an equitation class (judged on the rider), Emmaline placed SECOND in a class of 5 other riders including a professional!

~ In Memory Of ~

Mean Jane "Grace" 01/12/2000 - 08/11/2026

On Tuesday, August 11th, Mean Jane "Grace" passed away peacefully in her stall. This is probably one of the hardest and easiest things that I have ever had to write.

It is hard because Grace was a constant and large part of my heart for the majority of my life. She traveled with me everywhere that I have gone - Home and work in Minnesota, college in Pennsylvania, work in North Carolina. She was my first horse at 12 years old and was always there for all of my accomplishments and life's hardest moments.

In turn, this is also probably the easiest thing that I have had to write. When I got Grace, I made a childhood promise that I would keep her till the day she passed - I honored that promise. In turn, she gave me more through her life then I could have ever dreamed to ask for.

In her younger years, we had a very successful show career. We made a great team and our partnership secured many top placings. Our final show together was in 2019. Upon the start of my lesson program, Grace began the important job of teaching many people how to ride. She was my steady eddie and was a wonderful caretaker of anybody who rode her. She brought many little girls to their first shows and these partnerships produced many wonderful memories and ribbons. Most recently, Jojo and Emmaline had wonderful rides with her in Iron River WI at the NWDA show (coincidentally where Grace and my show career started as well).

The barn is a little quieter without her but I find happiness in all the wonderful memories we created and the people she touched along the way.

Ima Foxy Jess “Jessie” is a 15.1, 2022, gelding. This guys pedigree is absolutely stacked! Own son of Ima Foxy Dasher, grandson of Mr Jess Perry, and great-grandson of First Down Dash!

Jessie is an absolute dream to have around the barn! He is such a sweetheart and so easy to handle! He rides great - super comfortable WTL and is ready to finish your way! He is super easy to haul and good for the vet and farrier. Has been to a branding and has been exposed to cows. Jessie has a history of playing with feed sacks and scaring the other horses in the barn - he doesn’t understand why no one else wants to play with his toy too!

Was taking the photo of this guy's hind end and he looked around like “Excuse me… I know I'm handsome. You got the shot?”

On July 25th and 26th, KMC Equestrian attended the second RPHSA show in Stillwater MN.

What a great weekend! I am thrilled with how my riders placed! Some notable accomplishments include -

*2nd of 17 in the 0.75M Open Jumper!

And 2 good rides in the 1.0M Jumper and 1.0M Mini Prix! This mare is developing so nicely! So excited to continue her future!

On July 18th, KMC clients attended the 4th show in the East Central Buckle Series in Rutledge MN. Everyone had an awesome time!

I would like to specifically congratulate Maddison and Tinsley on their purchase of Awesome Elissa "Elissa". This was their first show on her and I am super proud of how it went for them!

Additionally, congratulations to Faith on her Champion placing in the RWD (Riders with Disabilities) division and 3 first place ribbons!

Overall, it was a wonderful show and I am so grateful for all those who attended and supported us!

The first Red Pine Horse Show Association horse show of the year located at Golden Gate Equestrian Center in Jordan MN was a great success!

Isabelle rode Call Tony (Owned by Brian Cloose) in her first show back in the show ring after about 5 years! She had a great show and was thrilled to walk away with multiple ribbons in both the equitation and the jumpers!

Harper piloted her gelding Classic Again to the Champion ribbon in the 2'3" Equitation division. She also had some solid rounds in the .85s and 2'6" hunter divisions!

Kelby rode Call Tony (Owned by Brian Cloose) in the $500 1.0m mini prix. This show was this mares first trip through a meter class and she was great! The pair placed in the ribbons with an 8th out of 11. This mare is very very talented and Kelby is thrilled to be producing her.
